Lego Builders of Tomorrow

The company LEGO has been around since 1949 (Wiki), and has created a dominate market for plastic blocks used by kids of all ages, but has been losing interest in children since then. So LEGO and 360PR had an idea to reestablish themselves as a brand with the youth by encouraging parents to force them on their kids. The campaign was called Builders of tomorrow. After doing research among parents, and how they get info about parenting tips, LEGO implemented their dialogue to parents through a website. LEGO looked into Silver Stork Research’s U.S Mom and U.S Dads Reports, and LEGO’s Systems research, which were both forms of secondary research. According to Silver Stork research, parents were using Internet as a major source for parental tips. That research brought forth the idea of using a dialogue website. The research used was targeting both moms and dads everywhere. After concluding the research, it appeared that dads were highly involved in family playtime, and their favorite toy growing up was the LEGO. As for moms, they use the Internet heavily for tips and life hacks about being a good parent. As for primary research, the first study LEGO did was called the “Holiday Wish List”, which asked parents what they want their kids playing with all year. After that first primary research, LEGO held interviews with child development experts and further understand how to utilize their products within today’s children. The stockholder group was the consumers buying the products, LEGO wanted to use parents to bring LEGOs into their kid’s life.
