To make the stadium more effective, many changes must be made. These changes range from the installation of solar panels, to less tvs. Solar panels, for instance, would generate energy for the stadium, using less from coal plants and nuclear power plants. If installed correctly, the profit return from these could be in the next 7 years. They have the potential to power most of, if not the whole stadium. This could be easier if more efficient stadium lights were in place.
The current stadium lights being used are poor when it comes to the efficient use of energy. LED lights are a modern and new technology which could greatly improve the stadium’s current power consumption. Along with energy, they could also provide the audience with light shows as leds can change color and brightness. This attraction could boost ticket sales and possibly pay off the LEDs and eventually even make profit. The stadium could greatly benefit from LEDs, and even make LED pool lights. which has a pool for special audience members. This pool uses lights, heating, and more and presents as a waste of energy for the stadium to simply earn a little extra cash. Since removing the pool is unlikely for the stadium, is would be best to find ways to make it more efficient. The lights for it could be replaced with LED lights, as mentioned previously. Also, heating could be removed altogether as most pools don’t use it and the Arizona heat can provide much of that anyways. The most unnecessary factor of the pool would be the water jets used whenever a home run is made. This is unnecessary, unnoticeable for 99% of the audience, and probably a little annoying for the people in the pool. The most inefficient use of energy would be the jacuzzi.
