The Hillside Strangler The Hillside Strangler was the name given to two killers who strangled and killed their victims, dumping their bodies in the hills of Los Angeles. These killings took place during October 1977 and February 1978 involving ten young women ranging from ages 12 to 28. With over one hundred law enforcement task force members working tirelessly to solve this case, the fear with in the community was still undeniable. It wasn’t long before the clues would come in one by one, to help detectives solve this heinous crime. Once two sets of DNA was revele on the crime scenes, police realized they had not just one but two killers. These two killers were cousins Kenneth Alessio Bianchi and Angelo Anthony Buono. Kenneth Bianchi was born in Rochester, New York to a prostitute mother, and was given up for adoption when he was born. …show more content…

During his three month testimony, his stories kept changing raising doubt that the Jury would believe him. Due to this the prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss all murder charges against Buono, shocking the community. A week after this motion was filed, Judge George decided that “Bueno’s fate would not be decided by the district attorney, but by a jury of his peers” and therefore denied the motion. Trial began in the spring of 1982 that included all of the evidence, testimony from Bianchi which was not consistent and 400 witnesses. In October 1983 the jury began deliberating and soon after Angelo Buono was convicted for the first murder. By January 1984, Buono was sentenced to Life with out parole, letting his suffer in Jail. . Kenneth Bianchi received a life sentence as well, and it currently serving his time at the Walla Walla State Penitentiary.
