Carl Panzram: “Rob Them All, Rape Them All, and Kill Them All” Introduction The formation of a serial killer is derived through a chain of events within their environment. Carl Panzram is a prime example of a child whose environment and life experiences led him to a life of criminal psychopathological behavior. This paper reviews the elements of Carl Panzram’s psychopathology, family history, psychological history, criminal history, lifestyle, relationships, criminal actions attempted, and his arrest through sentencing and death. Panzram ruthlessly plowed his way through life with a personality of taking what he wants when he wanted without remorse. Panzram was a callous individual with a mind filled with resentment, temperament, and vengefulness. He developed a severe antisocial personality disorder as a child and it was enhanced throughout his adulthood. Panzram had a pattern of disregard for violating the rights of others as his were violating during childhood into adulthood. Panzram encompassed the principal traits of a psychopath to include: selfishness, inability to love, inability to feel or give affection, egocentricity, and was a pathological liar (Bartol & Bartol, 2014). Panzram stated in his autobiography that he had no desire to reform himself, his only desire was to reform those who try to reform him and he believed the only way to reform people is to kill them (Menninger, 1971).
