“The future is coming no matter how hard we try to stop it…The only thing we can do is work hard and strive for the best future possible”(Acheson). Employers are becoming more selective when it comes to choosing employees. There are diminishing job opportunities that comes from outsourcing because of cheap labor and infrastructure. All of these factors make the prospect of finding a future job more difficult. In order to improve my chances of finding a successful job, I am directing all of my efforts to my current high school classes and extra circular activities to enhance my capabilities in the field of engineering. My goals for the future are to provide a comfortable future for myself, my future family, and as well as my current family. My high school classes for junior and senior year all focus on math and science based courses. I’m currently taking Pre-Calculus and Physics 1, and next year I am continuing my academic pursuits by taking AP Calculus AB and AP Physics 2. I prefer to enter college with an already working knowledge of Calculus and Physics in order to move on to more intense and precise understandings of all of these concepts and concentrate on my major. I also have participated in the Taylor Science Club which helps to further escalate my abilities in math, science, and mechanics. Since engineers may need to travel around the world for certain projects, I plan to finish French 3 and continue on to AP French 4 to develop my language skills and finally speak three languages fluently (English, French, and Arabic). I have also taken interest in clean and sustainable energy that will not affect the environment in a huge negative aspect, and for that reason I’m presently taking AP Environmental Science to learn about t... ... middle of paper ... ...character. She has the ability to produce impressive results in a wide variety of areas. I have seen astonishing results on complex projects that offered great attention to detail where quality was never compromised. Additionally, she has a very positive attitude and truly embraces learning. Not only do I believe Leah Kobeissi will be successful as a student, I believe she will succeed in the field of engineering when she graduates. Her intelligence, compassion, and desire to succeed will all suit her well in her chosen field. As a result of these and her accomplishments, it is my recommendation that her application for admissions be given serious consideration. Your college will benefit by including a students of such caliber into your school academics. I strongly recommend Leah for any available scholarship or funding to help her pursue her goals as well.
