What They Do
When you’re an art director you’re responsible for the visual styles and images in booklets, magazines, newspapers and anything else with picture basically. Art directors create the design of projects and work with others who develop it. They also determine how to represent a concept the best way. They determine what elements to use. They develop the look or style when they publish their work. They manage the other types of designers as well.

The median wage varies. Motion picture and video is $112,140, specialized design services are 95,680, advertising and public relations is 90,730, and newspaper, periodical and book publishers are $77,610. I don’t know how much you get paid an hour or your starting salary.
Job Outlook
Employment of art directors is projected to grow 5 percent from now until 2026. It’ll be the same for all the other occupations. Employment of art directors are projected to decline from 2016 to 2026. There is a strong competition to get the job you want. There are many other talented people like you and me trying to get the same job. Workers who are organized will have the best future ahead. I don’t believe there is any company hiring right now.
Why I Chose This Career
I chose this career because it interests me. I’ve thought of being an art director before I even took this class. I learned from this research that some art directors are very successful. The ones that put forth the effort are the ones who have a good future ahead of them. I’m not going to lie after researching it being an art director does seem harder than it looks but I know if I put forth the effort I know I’ll be alright if I pursue this
I believe that since I want to go into the advertising side of graphic design, I should work towards a minor in Studio Art. Along with a major in Graphic Design, a minor in Studio Art falls under the Bachelor of Fine Art degree. The Studio Art program is for students planning on pursuing a career in visual arts; it is more of a professionally-oriented program. Certain core courses are required in order to be accepted into this program: Introduction to Studio Art I, Introduction to Studio Art II, and Art History. Above all, acceptance into this program depends mainly on grade point average and seriousness of purpose. For instance, if I had an excessive amount of absences, I would not be admitted to the program. Therefore, in order to receive this minor in Studio Art, I must remain focused and serious about my future career in graphic
Tracy said that she is: paid in commission [and it’s typically] 15-20% [and] sometimes you don’t get paid. [You need to] find opportunities [and the] promos aren’t paid. It’s possible to manage one act and be the head of A&R at a label. Take those opportunities, if you want to be a manager don’t be set on just manager job. If there’s an opening for publishing go into publishing and network there.
Many of my friends pick their careers based on money and trade skills that they have. I am proficient in art and design, but didn’t feel like that was what I wanted to do for my career. Your career shapes a huge portion of your life. It is what you do every day, for a large portion of your life. It is what I have prepared for the past 12 or so years of my life. It is way more than just money or a skill. I wanted to do something unique, something interesting, something that would inspire me to be a better human, something that would make me feel, something that is challenging, something that helped others, and above all, something that was rewarding and made me feel fulfilled.
From an early age I have always had a strong interest in art, and have been involved with it in some form all through my life. In year nine I realized that it was something that I might like to pursue as a career, I started taking it more seriously. The Chase's art department encouraged me very well and helped me develop my art skills.
Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) classifies arts administrators as art directors and states “the job opportunities for these professionals a little growth of approximately 2% between 2014 and 2024”. This type of work will involve fundraising, marketing, staffing, financial management and programming with skills in marketing and human resources, fundraising, budget and research. The BLS expects the opportunities for arts administrators to vary in different industries with a proposed increase for advertising, public relations and special services; motion picture and video industries; and specialized design services. However, according to BLS, little change in the publishing industry’s need for arts administrators over the decade is expected (www.bls.gov). Arts administrators usually hold a bachelor's degree with some earning advanced degrees which provide the skills needed in similar fields such as PR, design, and film.
I chose to go into the field of Social Work. The reason being I felt that I was good at helping others. I am helpful by nature and I tend to attract those looking to be helped. I believe my career choice is appropriate for me because I do fill enjoyment when I help others. It is something that I get tired of at times but the end result always lifts my spirits. I have been in the helping field for 20 years and I can’t think of any other career that would work best for me.
Today, most cinematographers are required to have a bachelor’s degree in their field of study or one in a closely related area of work. They much also have extensive knowledge on film theory and camera operation. Another very important must-have in cinematography is experience. The more experience one has, the more likely they will be hired (handbook) (becomeopedia). It is crucial for cinematographers to have training.
My passion started with a few insane thoughts as this. However, I am infatuated with what I am doing, following my aspiration. Therefore, day-by-day, I proceed to discover, update the world’s latest fashion trends through well-known websites including Lookbook.nu, Polyvore…and learn from popular fashion illustrators, especially Hayden Williams, who is one of my favorites. A majority of people in my country entirely worried about future career, salary and promotion…which leads to their dishonesty about what they want to be. Even so, I wish to become myself, not anyone else.
Thereafter, I hope to pursue a career that surrounds me with art and continues to inspire my
Now that I have told you what has led me to this decision I would like to tell you exactly why I have chosen to become a teacher. I want to become a teacher not because of the salary nor because I want weekends and holidays off; rather, I want to become a teacher because I truly have a passion for making a difference in others lives. I feel that teaching is perhaps one of the most fulfilling roles in life. Becoming a teacher to me means helping to shape another person by teaching and instructing them.
Interior design is a complicated profession. It is sometimes referred to as interior architecture and often confused with interior decorating. It involves the design, organization and planning of an interior structure rather than just refinishing and furnishing existing interior spaces. It involves managing a business, hopefully meeting the desires of the client and delivering to them an interior environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. There is a lot more to interior design than first meets the eye.
In the past, there have been many famous artists, but few of them contributed their artistic skills to the design of the home. Michelangelo was a famous interior designer who created the most magnificent places for the richest of people. He made quantum use of his beautiful sculptures and paintings to create a rich ambiance. This is how interior design first began as a career. Years later, furniture, draperies, and wall coverings were included. Elsie de Wolfe was the first to practice interior design in the 1950s. Adam and Louis Comfort Tiffany, two American brothers, began a company to create beautiful furnishings and art, especially stained glass.
Without a doubt, being a highly respected photographer would be my dream career. The type of job that wouldn 't feel like a job because it is one of my favorite hobbies. Growing up I always noticed how much longer I took to take a picture of someone than when they did the same for me. I soon realized that I actually had a passion for getting the right shot that I understood that not every pictures the same and that certain angles made others look better in places. The praise I received for taking a lot of these pictures motivated me. I liked that I hardly ever got told to take these pictures over and I loved that I was always the one chosen to take them time after time. Once I understood that I had this passion for photography I made sure a camera was the first thing on my Christmas list that year. I also knew that there was nothing but room for improvement, so i sought out private lessons which I worked and saved up for.
Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. Imagine being stuck in a dead end job and having to go to work every morning and dreading it. That is no spending oneÕs time and life is too short to work 35 years and be unhappy with it. If a person likes the job they do then it is not work, because finding satisfaction out of a job can bring great happiness. That information has enabled me to make the decision of choosing my area of study and career in the field of Information Technology.
Designing in any way is a career that I could say becomes natural to me because it all involves some experience in art and art is the basic beginning of it all.
