Cardiology is one of the many professions in the medical field. It is also a very important field. Many people in the world are having more and more issues, including cardiovascular diseases. I’m interested because when we were in seventh grade, we studied the human body. I was best at the heart and was also the most interested in the heart. Seventh grade isn’t nearly as hard and complex as cardiology is, but it gave me an interest in cardiology. Another reason I’m interested is because my grandma has heart issues.
Cardiologists do many things. Cardiologists study heart functions, supervise all therapy of heart conditions, including drugs, and take care of their patients with cardiovascular diseases. Some diseases they might deal with include; Aneurysm, Arrhythmia, Chest pain, Congestive heart failure, Coronary artery disease, Heart attack, Heart murmur, Syncope (fainting), and many others. Cardiologist’s daily duties are to diagnose, and treat cardiovascular issues. Cardiologist can work in the hospital or they have their own office. Typically their patients are referred to them through their regular physicians. If it’s a more severe problem, such as a heart attack, they go to the hospital to see them. ("cardiology." If a person wants to become a cardiologist, they have to go through many years of schooling. A person can be in school from eight to ten years. An individual may go to school for ten years if they want to specialize in an area. Some specialties include; Cardiovascular Ultrasound, Cardiovascular Imagery, Cardiac Cath, Nuclear Cardiology, and more. ...and study it further. Cardiology is especially important in today’s society, with other diseases leading to cardiac issues, diseases such as diabetes. I am still interested in becoming a cardiologist. If anything, researching cardiology has made me further interested in the field. The heart is an amazing organ that can keep being studied to find new surgeries and treatments. Even though it will be difficult to get through college and pay tuition, it will be worth it in the end.
