Being in a car crash is not an experience you want to go through. Accidents often happen, they don’t happen by choice most of the time. Many people die each year due to car crashes. Accidents can be caused by multiple reasons most of which drivers are responsible of. From simple distractions like the phone to people driving under the influence accidents can occur. Today I will describe events that happened to me that made me feel thankful for being alive. The one car crash I was a part of that changed my life.

Literally, a second before the car impacted us I heard my friend who was sitting behind me yelling “Watch out!” in a fearful tone. Instantly my whole vision starts spinning while my mind is blank. A strong noise is heard at the exact moment of the impact like if TNT just exploded at the left side of my brain. We end up at the opposite side of the avenue, crashing to a house driveway park. I was the first one to be conscious again. As soon as the car stops spinning, I felt a stimulant sensation in waves from the bottom of my feet to the top of my head, a pure adrenaline rush. First thing I try to do is to wake up R by shaking his head when I notice his clothes covered in red silhouettes like if roses were printed in his shirt. There is blood coming out of his nose as his head rests against the noisy claxon while he is unresponsive. Among desperation and chaos, I stormed out of the car and tried to open the car’s back door to check on G. He was conscious but confused to the point when I first started talking to him, he would just stare at me like a child who does not know how to talk yet and just only perceives, shocked by the impact. Instantly while talking to him I felt a metallic taste in my mouth. I had terrible pain all over my neck and back as if I had been stuck by the impact of an uncontrollable eighteen-wheeler. Then G and I proceeded to move R out of the car. He is not conscious yet and has some minor cuts in his arms and neck. Between the two of us, we got him out and starting walking towards the other side of the road, away from the car in case it explodes. Black and grey smoke in the air as blood covered our clothes. The smell was burned tire was eminent and impossible not to notice The person from the other car came to us in a rush with his face completely tinted black from his car’s oil while calling 911 with a completely shocked voice. I could feel my neck sore and pain all over my back. Minutes passed when I finally heard the pleasurable sound of a siren from far away, it was a real relieve with a feeling of safety to listen to that siren at that exact moment. Paramedics came and picked up R from the floor and took him to the hospital, he survived in one piece like the rest of us, in his case he had a minor concussion.
