Bruno Mars was born on October 8th, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a young boy Bruno Mars impersonated Elvis Presley. He impersonated Elvis Presley in his family musical and from there he started getting into playing instruments, listening to different types of music like Michael Jackson and Elvis. His music has been known for displaying a wide variety of musical genres, styles, and really just a mix of everything. His music gives us a little of him, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and other great artists. His first album ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’ is influenced by these genres. Bruno Mars is one of the best artist in history who has been able to recreate music and bring back ‘throwbacks’ while giving us today’s hits.
For ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’, he won the ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’, and the ‘Juno Award for International Album of the Year’, which meant he became Billboard’s Artist of the Year for the success on his second album. Since then, the awards have tripled. Bruno Mars is better than your “average pop star” with a changing style of music. What makes him so great is not only his style of music but also his background and the impact his fans have had on his career.
Before the big name came along, “Bruno Mars” was only Peter Gene Hernandez. The nickname ‘Bruno’ was given by his family when he was still a baby. His sister Jamie described him as “independent, really strong-willed, confident and brute”. Bruno has stuck since then. Mars was later adapted because the ladies believed he was “out of this world”, says Bruno Mars. He was introduced to music in his family’s musical business. At the age of four he began with impersonating artists like Elvis Presley in his family’s musical. He then became the star of the show and as he got older, he added Michael Jackson into his acts.
