In your presentation you need to evaluate whether your chosen text or Black Swan Green is a better representation of the outsider/adolescent. In your discussion you need to use examples from both texts to inform your discussion. Bridge to Terabithia does this best through the creative representation of Jess’s life through the kingdom of Terabithia. It does a very clear job of providing imagery to the troubles in his life. This imaginative kingdom makes the movie more engaging as his two worlds are juxtaposed and provides him with a method of expressing his teenage problems. One of the reasons it more effectively presents Jess as an outsider is because of the friendship that is created between him and Leslie, and their common attribute of being out of the loop and being considered nobodies. Furthermore, Bridge to Terabithia does a better job of representing an outsider and adolescent because it is a fully imagined movie which gives it the advantage of easily portraying an outsider with scenes of them clearly being excluded by others.
