Although Boston and Newport are located along the East Coast of the United Sates, they are miles apart, both literally and figuratively, in social, economic and climatically diversities. In Boston, Massachusetts every day is unpredictable and chaotic while Newport, North Carolina is best described as quiet and uneventful.
With a population of nearly 700,000 people, Boston, Massachusetts culture is described as unique. The Boston accent, also known as the sub-dialect of New England English, is widely known around the world. It sounds something like, “I pahk my cah, in the yahd.” The lack of the letter R is what makes the accent distinguishable.
Despite many thinking the dislike between the Irish and the Italians is long gone, this is still a large problem in Boston. Both Irish and Italians make up a majority of the population in Boston. Gang warfare is still a problem in the south side of the Boston city to this day. Although the fights are not as prominent as they were in the 60's, violence between the two ethnicities still continues throughout the east side of the city. Although the crime rate has proven to be high in the city, Boston is also recognized as an area of high intellect. Universities such as Harvard, MIT and Eastern Nazerene college are just a few of the many great schools located in the city. Mark Twain once said “In New York they ask "how much money does he have?" In Philadelphia, they ask, "who were his parents?" In Boston they ask, "how much does he know?"
Music and theater makes up a large of the culture in Boston. Many well known artists are from the streets of Boston such as Aerosmith, Boston, The Drop Kick Murphys and the world renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra. The city also has numerous lesser ...

The cost of living is fairly inexpensive, a one bedroom apartment costs $400.00 a month not including utilities. The crime rate in Newport is one of the lowest in the state. There was only one murder committed in the year of 2013.
While Boston, Massachusetts has more entertainment and a variety of cultural opportunities, Newport, North Carolina is a safer area to live than the big city. I personally enjoyed the ten years I was able to spend in Boston. To me, there is nothing better than watching an ice hockey game and having other numerous opportunities for entertainment practically at my doorstep. Moving to Newport was quite the culture shock, however I could see this small town being the perfect place after retirement to have peace and quiet to live out the rest of my days.
While reading An Account of the Life of Mr. David George from Sierra Leone, Africa, Given by Himself, and Memoirs of the Life of Boston King, a Black Preacher, Written by Himself, nothing appeared to be majorly contrasting between the two documents. Both included an enslaved, and deeply religious, African American man who survived the American Revolution and ended up settling in Sierra Leone for the last bit of his life. However, after reading these two documents for the nth time, a few key differences appeared within the information hidden in the titles of the documents and the diction in which each man recounted his journey.
The colonists of Roanoke disappeared mysteriously around 1590. All the colonists were gone without a trace and without any exact way of letting anyone know what happened to them. When the governor of Roanoke, John White, arrived to Roanoke in 1590,there was only one clue about the disappearance that remained. The letters ''CRO''were written on a tree nearby. No one had knowledge of what happened to the colonists or where they might have gone. The question that is still being asked is,'' What happened in the time between when White left and returned?'' and , '' How did the events leading up to and after Roanoke affect the later colonies?'' There were eleven children, seventeen women, and ninety men that were supposed to be in Roanoke , but no remained. It is a mystery that hasn't been solved up to this day.

The Boston Tea Party was not really a tea party. Instead it was a group of people dressed like Indians with axes dumping tea off three ships to protest British taxes. It took place in Boston Harbor, Boston, Massachusetts on December 16, 1773, from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.
On March 5th, 1770 the colonists were going to protest against the British rule because they were being unfair to the colonists, with taxes being passed without the colonists’ approval. The proclamation of 1763 didn’t help stopping people from settling across the Appalachian mountains even though people fought for it. Also each house had to house and feed a soldier. Many other taxes on different items also caused colonists to be angry. As colonies of the British Empire, both the New England and Chesapeake regions were inhibited by innumerable immigrants of English origin. Despite this common characteristic, the two areas greatly differed from each other. New England was more tolerant and community based whereas the Chesapeake was focused more directly on personal wealth and land. The Boston Massacre was one the most controversial massacre in American history that teased the coming of the American Revolution. People were taunting a British soldier who was standing “in front of the Boston Custom House” who got very frustrated to the point where he hit somebody. The soldier got overwhelmed by people who came after he hit one of them, called help from his fellow soldiers. When Captain Preston and his soldiers arrived at the scene, people were coming from everywhere, some were trying to fight them and some were just there to watch. Do not end up in situations that can be avoided. Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a novel set on a tropical island, explores the idea of mind control. In this story there are a group of schoolboys that get into a plane crash and are left without adults. As adolescents they decide who gets the power to be leader and out of them. Ralph is picked because of his appearance. Throughout the book a character Jack abuses his power and then because his influence on the others it leads to the death of two schoolboys. In Lord of the Flies Golding’s point is to demonstrate that people react to bad stimulus without realizing it,which results in an emotional breakdown.
