Boost Juice is a fresh fruit and smoothie bar that was founded by Janine Allis in 2000, Janine was on a trip to the US in 1999 when she noticed that the fruit and smoothie category was on the rise and that there was nothing like this in Australia yet. Janine took advantage of this idea and decided to create her own Juice Bar in Australia. Janine opened the first Boost Juice in Adelaide where she ran the business herself, from taking orders to making the drinks. When she had the opportunity to run a Juice Bar company, she took it as she was passionate about healthy eating and this was promoting that. She wanted to create a unique customer service based on her “love life” philosophy, she wanted everyone to leave Boost Juice feeling “just that little bit better”. Janine studied her local retail department and noticed that there were barely any heathy fast food juices in the Australian market. When Janine learnt this, she realised this is what sets her apart from many other franchises, its healthy and quick. Janine marketed her business by making Boost Juice have a feel good vibe and ensured that everyone was aware that it is a healthy choice they are making by choosing Boost
I think the advertising and sampling are the most effective out of the four. The way Jimmy Johns advertises is very different from other companies. They make them really funny and creates a new “community.” The poems shown in the video were very eye-catching and has a quirky twist to it. The “community” is very similar to that of Harley-Davidson’s lifestyle which was created and sold in addition to their motorcycles. The other part of the ads and commercials is that the sandwiches they make seem funnier. The product is almost thought of better than those of other sub shops because of the way they are promoted through advertising. I think sampling is very important in the food industry. No one likes to buy a lunch and end up hating it. Providing small samples will allow people to taste them first before spending all the money to buy a full

Starting with the product Clif Bar expanded its original energy bar into other products to fulfill customers’ needs and wants. They made Luna Bar for women, ZBar for children, and for those who want more energy they created Clif Shot to easily drink a small amount of energy on the go. Clif Bar promotes their products by sponsoring events; their latest event they sponsored was the 2016 Boston Marathon. Giving racers who need energy free samples to encourage them to finish the race. The prices for their products are relatively higher than their competitors due to their natural/ organic ingredients. But customers are willing to pay an extra dollar for quality ingredients. The places Clif Bar is available are Australia, Belgium, Japan, Italy, Portugal, and Spain just to name a few. The people in Clif Bar believe in their product. They are adventure goers who love to hike and be in the outdoors. They believe energy should be natural just like the great outdoors and that organic is the way to go. The process for Clif Bar is they distribute their products to local stores (Albertson’s, Ralphs, Vons, Target, and Walmart) they also sell them direct on their online store (clifbarstore.com). Physical evidence for Clif Bar is portrayed as an energy bar for active people. The website illustrates people on bikes, hiking, and running being happy and focused on their activities. All the factors of the marketing mix for Clif Bar revolve on their simple natural ingredients targeting active people on the
As stated in the case, “the market for energy drinks was growing; between 2010 and 2012, the market for energy drinks had grown by 40%. It was estimated to be $8.5 billion in the United States in 2013 [and] forecasts projected that figure to reach $13.5 billion by 2018” (pg 5). However, much of this market’s revenue -- 85% in fact -- is dominated by five major brands, while the remaining 15% is split between approximately 30 regional and national companies. (pg. 5). With this saturated market, it might not be best for Crescent Pure to enter as a completely new product to the industry, as there is the possibility that it will be squeezed out of the profit shares by more established brands -- especially if it is not properly secure in its identity. In addition, while the market for energy drinks appeared to be growing at an exponential rate compared to the market for sports drinks -- which increased only 9% in five years and would be at approximately 60% of the rate for energy drinks in 2017 (pg 6) -- the consumers appeared to be wary of partaking in the market for several reasons, which would potentially harm the reach of Crescent Pure. These concerns included rising news reports discussing the safety of energy drinks (pg. 5). Taking into consideration the data provided in the case that concerns reasonings of why consumers choose specific drinks over others, there
be to conduct marketing research to find out if this is something people around campus and the surrounding area would want. The product should then be promoted by setting up a booth in the university center or near the food court and give out product samples. A survey could follow, as a way to find out the opinions of the new potential customers. The company must also ask themselves if everyone will succumb to the health craze, or if they will be directed toward coffee shops. They also have to look at coke, pepsi, milk, beer, liquor, etc., because those are all indirect competition for Jamba Juice. Not everybody likes Juice, so if Jamba Juice provided other beverage options and snack foods like power bars or muffins, they would probably make a much higher profit. To establish itself from other juice bars in the area or the bars that might follow, Jamba Juice needs to differentiate themselves using many promotional strategies, such as, store atmosphere, coupons or giveaways, good quality, good products and flavors, etc. By incorporating all of these strategies, Jamba Juices has a much higher chance of becoming a success.
When trying to find the meaning of a song one must review the three main qualities of music; sound, lyrics, and the video. Artist and writers express their emotions by telling a story. Artists hope the listener is able to feel something or want to dance and move. Twenty one pilots a band under the genre of rap rock released a single called “Stressed Out”. This song tells the story of two young adults undergoing the pressures of growing up. Hearing the uproar in the beats, watching the video of the band members dealing with their family, and hearing the lyrics of the song depict the troubles and pressures you endure when you are older. The song’s message and meaning is explicit. The song, “Pumped up Kicks”, was created
...have tried to make their own sports drink in a carbonated form, such as a company called Vemma(founded by B.K Boreyko in 1996). Two companies trying to make a drink better than Gatorade or Powerade is Vemma and WakeUpNow. These two companies made their own products called “Verve” which was created by Vemma and “Awaken” which was created by WakeUpNow. Those two companies are examples that tried to make a drink better than Gatorade or Powerade but have failed due to their horrible customer satisfaction ratings, and their reputation. My point is that any company who tries to compete with multi-billion companies like Gatorade and Powerade will always fall short due to the fact that Gatorade and Powerade are the face of sports drinks in any athletic league. So sports drinks are what keep an athlete moving longer and more energetic to complete the goal they strive to get.

When one thinks of Coca-Cola products, the first thought tends to be of die – hard fans*. Individuals in society cannot go a day without a Coke*. And while Diet Coke has been a leading sugar-free soft drink since it was first released, it came to light that young adult males shied away from this beverage*. This is due to men classifying Diet Cola as a woman’s drink. Men have a conventional look of associating woman with “wanting to be beautiful and thin”*. Not only does Coke Zero have to change the target markets perceptions but there are many competitors who are nearly identical. Where there are innovative products, there are substitutes. Pepsi Max and Jive Lite are the two competitors of Coke Zero. In order for Coke Zero to continue being consumers first choice, they need to consider the factors that influence the decision making process in the cluttered marketplace externally and internally.
