The characters in this book is Michael Jordan's family which is his mother Deloris Jordan and James Jordan. Michael Jordan and his father had a close relationship when his father died in 1993 Michael was very sad and cried after the game. Michael and his mother Deloris had a close relationship. Michael Jordan had a close relationship with his brother. They would play basketball in the backyard and his brother was older, taller, and stronger than him and he would always lose. Michael would play him almost everyday and lose.

When Michael arrived to Unc he was nervous and excited. Everyone on the team was a high school star. Michael had an advantage he knew the team's offense because the high school he attended Laney High used the exact same offense as them. The first few week Michael played good till he twisted his ankle and was out for 2 weeks. Michael made it as a starter for his team. He was very nervous and excited. At the start of the game Jordan shot a jumper and he missed it but the butterflies in his stomach went away. Michael scored 12 points in there win. Throughout his career in college he averaged 17.7 points per game 1.8 assist 2 rebounds and he shot 54 percent.
After playing two years of college basketball Michael Jordan entered the 1984 NBA draft. He was picked second while Sam Bowie was number 1. Jordan won rookie of the year in 1984-5.
