INTRODUCTION

Before starting with any discussion upon the analysis of stains and the more difficult concepts, it is important to understand the blood as a living entity and a source of utmost importance for individuality, in case of forensic sciences.
 BLOOD
Blood is a specialized body fluid that delivers necessary substances to the body's cells — such as nutrients and oxygen — and transports waste products away from those same cells. It can be referred to as a liquid connective tissue. It consists of solid elements made up of RBCs, WBCs and platelets (commonly referred to as the formed elements of the blood), suspended in a fluid medium, plasma which contains, water (about 92%), dissolved proteins, lipids, glucose, mineral ions, hormones, organic acids, urea and other wastes, …show more content…

It is a branch of forensic science that deals with the physics of the blood and assesses bloodstains found at a crime scene using visual pattern recognition. It can provide insight on matters relating to forensics such a finding relevant factors in order to distinguish among homicide, suicide, or accident; and reconstruction of events.
It utilizes principles of biology, physics and mathematics to assist investigators and blood pattern analysts in answering related questions. Since blood behaves according to certain scientific principles, trained bloodstain pattern analysts can examine the blood evidence left behind. Analysts can categorize the stains, which appear to random distribution of bloodstains, by gathering information about spatter patterns, transfers, voids and other marks that assist investigators in recreating the sequence of events that occurred after bloodshed. This form of physical evidence requires the analyst to recognize and interpret patterns to determine how those patterns were
