Twenty two year old Elizabeth short was an aspiring actress who was ruthlessly murdered. On January 15, 1947 Elizabeth short or also known as “The Black Dahlia” was found naked and detached at the waist. In the case of “The Black Dahlia” murder, there are many theories as to who did it including multiple suspects, her clean body, and evidence covered in gasoline.
First of all, this case has not been solved but of course there are still suspects and theories of the murderer. According to blackdahlia.web Mark Hansen was a nightclub owner and was one of the last people to of spoken to Elizabeth. On January 23, 1947 the police received a package that included Elizabeth’s birth certificate, business cards, and an address book that wrote “Mark Hansen” over it. These items were covered in gasoline so the police couldn’t identify the fingerprints. Another suspect was george Hodel and police had installed recordings in his home. George was stated to say, “Supposin’ I did kill the Black Dahlia. They couldn’t prove it now. They can’t talk to my secretary anymore because she’s dead.” This demonstrates Hodel has had something to do with the murder. The last suspect is Doctor Patrick S. O’Reilly. …show more content…

Also according to blackdahlia.web and prairighost.com on January 23, the same day they received the mail. Then they had also received a call from a man confessing to the murder. Elizabeth’s handbag and shoe had also been found in a trash can on the same day. The LAPD had been receiving various letter but most of them were pronounced as hoaxes. From looking at the way Elizabeth short was cleanly cut LAPD was convinced that the murderer had a sort of medical training. Police had also thought the killer could have been a necrophiliac.
