I was up to bat, waiting for the pitcher to throw the ball and it felt like a sloth trying to move. Finally the ball was off, its laces spinning towards me getting closer and closer. Wam I swung and hit the ball, further and further away it went. I round the bases, going faster and faster. As I am rounding 3rd base people behind the net behind home plate were yelling ” Slide”. I did not hear them yelling slide so I didn’t, when I touched home plate I was standing up and there were all yelling” touch home plate so I was confused because I did. It took me a few second to take it in and when I did the catcher was right next to me so I tried to juke him out but it didn’t work and the Umpire called me out. Everyone went crazy because they were so
Pride is something that is essential in human life. Due to pride, we are able to see the joys
Growing up I was a catcher, and the rules that I learned my freshman year were not the rules that I followed by my senior year. Freshman year I was allowed to stand at home plate. The rule had changed for me having to stand in front of home plate and avoid any type of unnecessary contact with the runner. These new rules took effect because of the many players that were injured during collisions at home plate that have resulted in major injuries. During a game my freshman year, a batter hit the ball deep into the outfield, causing my team the need to relay the ball into me. As I got the ball the runner was getting closer and closer to me while not slowing down while I am waiting for her to reach home plate. Ultimately we collided and though she was unharmed, I developed a concussion and had to sit out for the rest of the

The ex-basketball player was a poem about a once great basketball player in high school named Flick Webb who had his life go downhill after graduating high school. He had a glorious life in high school because he was one of the best athletes in the area. Many still remember how good of a player he was in high school. Sadly his stardom is over. He should've focused on his grades and acquiring valuable skills and knowledge for his future. Getting an education is important and valuable. It's important to get an education because hobbies aren't going to benefit your future. Once high school ends, everything you learned during that time is what is going to benefit your future. Education is something that will benefit and help you achieve a successful
Do you think that the term "Ball Hog" directly reflects what a selfish player is in one small phrase? It is considered unacceptable in the game of basketball since one selfish player can cost the game for the whole team. Actions like taking bad shots continuously, dribbling the ball too much without making a good pass are some of the things that shape what a ball hog is. There are also many instances were a player won't pass to an open teammate and instead decide to take a shot that is much tougher. Selfish play can ruin a team's momentum and trust from the entire team destroying the team chemistry. Now in the game today, a ball hog is a selfish player, usually looks to play for themselves, instead of buying into playing as a team.

I had not much time to think so I just acted! I swung the bat hard making contact with the ball and as I felt the adrenaline pumping through my veins I looked out to deep right field where the ball had sailed over the right fielder's head. When I seen the ball drop down the foul line and my teammate running home I knew I did it. I was as much emotional as I was proud for myself as I stood on the base and waited for my team to rush the field. I felt the best I had in a long time! Everything worked out just as I had wished and dreamed of it for so long.In all the midst of the cheering, yelling, and chaos I was at peace and felt the proudest of my life as I stood like a statue on that field looking like one of the joyful men on the face of the Earth that night. Everything had just happened so quickly it was almost hard to process it all at one time. I was almost shook with emotion that night and it took a lot of power to keep from going crazy because of all the happiness that night had brought
I broke down and bought a "fake" one, LOL! I still have it in my basement.
One of NBA’s all time All Star favorites, Michael Jordan, was not just about basketball all his life. Experiences in his childhood and early teens brought him to that life. His actions as an adult got him to where he is now...a millionaire. Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players who had some bumps in his life, but overcame them to become a successful man.
The horn blew and the game started, Dedham won the face off and is running down the field at a faster pace than I was used to. They shot the ball! I couldn’t move my stick quick enough to save it, so I threw my body in front of it and got hit right in the shoulder. It hurt a lot, but what I hadn’t realized was that it hit my shoulder and reflected ten feet away from the net where my player caught it and ran down the field and scored. The other team didn’t know what hit them. It was the half now and the score was three to nothing in our favor. Our couch told us that we needed to keep up the good work.
The announcer began announcing our team to start the introduction for the game. Since I was the lead-off batter, my name was echoed over the park first. It was at this time that the feeling elevated; the feeling that makes every baseball field so special. As my teammates yelled for me, while I ran to the nearest baseline and faced the crowd, the feeling gave me goose bumps and raised the hairs on the back of my neck. The feeling is so amazing that it will keep me playing baseball for as long as possible because it makes my love for the sport that much more. I can't even begin to explain the complex feeling I get when I walk on a baseball field, but that feeling will always be cherished and hopefully when I pass on my love of baseball to others, they will too understand what that special diamond makes me feel like.
In 2008, Michael Jordan made his 200th wish to Make-A-Wish foundation. The CEO of the Make-A-Wish foundation even stated that, “Michael Jordan is one of the all-time greatest athletes, but he is an even better person,” said David Williams, “He has changed the lives of hundreds of wish kids and their families for the better, and for that, we are forever grateful” (Christensen). If the CEO of Make-A-Wish can say that Michael Jordan is a better person than a basketball player, and then he must be quite the person considering how dominate of a player Jordan was.
