Bill Gates Bill Gates is currently fifty-nine years old. Even at the age of thirteen, he showed an interest in computer programming. Gates has done wonderful things for our country. Not only did he create a new operating system, Microsoft, he also is very generous. William Henry Gates III, Bill Gates, was born on October 28th, 1955, in Seattle,Washington. His father is William Henry Gates II, and his mother is Mary Maxwell Gates. He has two sisters named Libby and Kristi Gates. When he was thirteen, Gates enrolled at Lakeside school. He aced every single class he took, and soon he became one of the smartest kids at Lakeside. Gates took an interest in computer programming and was excused from math classes to pursue his interest. In 1986, he became a billionaire. He was the world's richest man in 2009 when his fortunes reached over 100 billion dollars. Microsoft Windows was one of Gates' s best creations. It was the new operating system for the new world. Not only has Bill Gates made an amazing life for his family, but he shares his wealth.
Bill Gates is famous for asking other billionaires to give away at least half their fortunes. Bill and Melinda Gates have committed to giving ninety-five percent of their fortune to charity over time. Another reason he is important is because he brought the computer into the home by developing the PC. He also gave Apple money when they were going broke to keep them in business. Gates understood the importance of competition and didn't want the Mac or Apple to go under. Gates has donated billions of dollars to charity. He is a very generous philanthropist.
"I choose a lazy person to do a hard job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.” This is my favorite quote by Bill Gates simply because it made me laugh the first time I read it. At first, I thought it was a stupid reason to hire someone that is lazy, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. I think Bill Gates is right in doing this because a lazy person could possibly find a more efficient way to get the job
