What Is discernment ? by Biblical definition discernment means to discover, to recognize discernment is realizing when to speak and when not to speak. It is choosing what is right,and what is good. Discernment is the inspired ability to separate our imperfect will, to the perfect will of God.To many people discernment is a word of knowledge,a word of wisdom, it may include understanding dreams. It is a manifestation gift, we often refer to it as a surprise gift. James tells us to be wise, gentle and to ask God for wisdom. How do I see wisdom? I see wisdom as giving advice. You can speak so much knowledge into a person's life, but what matters most is if they are taking your wisdom (discernment) and applying it. For example
Non Christians cannot understand God, they can not grasp they concept that Gods spirit lives inside believers. When you become a Christian for the first time, don’t expect most people to understand or approve of your decision to follow Christ. Your discernment to follow Christ will always turn out to be a greater benefit, than following men. Discernment is reading people. When you have the gift of discernment it becomes easier for you to tell who is being real or not. Discernment is knowing how far you can go and talk with people about their faith, for example one night at pizza inn the Paul F Beacham was doing a fundraiser and one of the guys decided to pray for a complete stranger and he found out the women lost something, what ended up happening was he prayed and the women came to faith in Christ. Another time I’ve had to use discernment is picking classes for the following semester, I’ve learned in this process all of our advisors is our greatest advocates. If it wasn't for them, we all wouldn’t be having classes. When I was a kid, Christmastime was always very special too me and it still is today, I had to discern whether or not to open the presents when everyone else was still sleeping or to be patient

Wisdom can be helped with knowledge but also experiences and I take these experiences I learn and go through within in my faith and everyday life outside of church, like school or home. Finally, This concept is very compatible with my faith because the book discusses, “touching The Living Christ in each person we meet”, and also that I must learn from my experiences and take that knowledge and use it to make sure that I am going on the right path and that I am staying on the right path.
Wisdom is one of the most important divisions of the eightfold noble path. This division basically emphasizes discernment and how important it is to follow. Wisdom consists of two separate parts, which are right view and right intention.
As humans we encounter wisdom on a daily basis. One can find it in anything and everything. Wisdom can be found in a person, a place, or even an experience. It can be found in the sky, in the leaves that sway with the wind, or in the oceans powerful tide. Who wouldn’t think Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year? Santa comes to give presents to good people who have done good things each Christmas. People anticipate to see what presents they will get for Christmas each year. Families get together for the holiday and play games, talk, and celebrate what Christmas is all about. Christmas is all about Christ, and people learn about Him by listening to the radio, which may play Christmas carols, such as Carol of the Bells.
Judging means that a person organizes all of his life events and, as a rule, sticks to his plans. Perceiving means that he or she is inclined to improvise and explore alternative options. Although a bit confusing to understand, judging is more than evaluation and perceiving is not about just looking at a thing. They are about how we approach life: in an organized way or an open, flexible way.
What does it mean to be wise? Webster's Dictionary defines the word "wise" as being "marked by deep understanding, keen discerment". Through the telling of the ancient Mariner's tale, the Wedding-Guest became sadder and wiser. He became sad in that he identified himself with the shallow and self-absorbed mariner. However, the mariner changed his ways. The Wedding-Guest became wise through realizing that he himself needed to alter his ways.
Christmas is the most popular holiday in all of the land. Mostly everyone loves Christmas. There are three categories of Christmas people. Number one; the haters. They despise Christmas and think it is the devil and nothing good comes from lying to children and giving gifts for absolutely no reason at all. Number two; the average person. The ones who just buy the gifts, wear the holiday sweaters, and go to the annual Christmas gathering at Grandma’s where gifts and laughs are exchanged. Number three; the die hard Santa’s of the group. The few mothers or fathers who decorate the day after Halloween to get into the Christmas spirit. The tree is up on November first and the Christmas lights are hung all year round. They make sure to go black friday shopping to get everyone a gift, even cousin Nicholas, who is three times removed. Knowledge is understanding someone or something, mainly a specific subject. For example, Thales, had knowledge of philosophy, mathematics, and astronomy. Wisdom is timeless, whereas knowledge is always up for change. Knowledge is learning how to do something you are interested in. Where wisdom is thinking about the impact this interest may have on your life or how you can express this interest.
Christmas was always a big event in our family. We always spent Christmas Eve with my father's family and Christmas Day with my mom's. There was always a lot of food and many gifts, but for the first four or five years of my life, I had no clue what we were celebrating. I really don't think I cared too much, being a young child caught up in all the excitement. And I had something to call it. Christmas. That's all I really needed until I stumbled upon a Christmas special on television entitled A Charlie Brown Christmas. I must have been four or five years old at the time, I can't remember for sure, but I don't think I had started kindergarten yet. But I know I was curled up in a Sesame Street sleeping bag in front of our old television set, one of the small older models instead of the giant entertainment centers like we have now.
When I think about knowledge the first thing that comes to my mind is education. I believe that knowledge comes to people by their experiences in life. In other words, life is an instrument that leads me to gain knowledge. Many people consider that old people are wise because they have learned from good and bad experiences throughout their lives. Education requires work, dedication and faith to gain knowledge. We acquired knowledge through the guidance of from parents, role models, college/University teachers and life experiences.
