The Lion King film is not just an animated Walt Disney film but an inspirational movie. I think this is a good movie for anyone to watch because it has a lot of meaning for example, life lessons. Throughout the movie, there were different examples of life lessons such as hope, justice, and perserverance. I would definitely watch it again and children and adults to watch this movie.

Mom would always yell at us for drudging mud into the house afterwards.” These characters use a casual and friendly tone of voice that is familiar with the target audience. A parent telling a child to finish their homework before play, the drudging of mud into the house, spotting fish in the local creek—these images are all too familiar to the western audience and generation of parents. Their stories evoke a sense of longing and return to the past when many individuals are becoming increasingly uncertain aboutthe future. A stark contrast is presented with the child playing on the ipad. The relaxing background music abruptly stops as he candidly states, “I play on my ipad. I think I play games on it for three hours a day. Sometimes more.” The purpose of using a small child for a scene that portrays video games in a negative light (as opposed to an older individual) is due to the fact that a child’s concerns is rarely deemed “offensive” to others. In the film Stagecoach, the group of individual of differing social standings and classes convene as group of passenger in their journey, attempting to avoid Apache warriors. While each passenger had their own motivations for their journey – some with honorable circumstances such as finding their spouse, and others with less honorable circumstances, such as being forced out of town due to alcoholism or prostitution. Regardless of their backgrounds and context and their motivations, this group of passengers, through the relentless challenges they faced throughout their journey from Tonto to Lordsburg. It felt like something retro but with better special effects. This was surprisingly satisfying, because as technology progresses, even though a movie classic’s storyline may be phenomenal and the characters iconic, there is still is that craving for better visual effects. This movie kind of breathed a new life into that same feeling that movies like E.T. or the Goonies, give the audience by providing advanced CGI graphics. The provided the audience with some of the nostalgia, but the fact that the main characters were children is really what did it. It helped tremendously that the writer made sure his protagonists didn 't appear to be overly contrived. Many films with child stars tend to have the characters perform actions that would realistically be above the scope of ability for someone in their age group. But J.J. Abrams did a great job of fully developing each of their personalities. He let them show more of the emotions that would be expected from real life children. They shed tears, they were afraid. One of Joe’s friends, Preston (Zach Mills), even refused to go. Not a single one was unrealistically heroic or did ridiculous stunts, they were courageous but not so much so that they audience couldn’t suspend disbelief. And another refreshing aspect of the film, was the ‘romance’ between Alice and Joe. Abrams kept it on the more platonic side as it should be. Certainly this book is written for adults. The authour uses profanity and racial remarks, but it is necessary to tell the story in that manner. The bad language used by the characters shows their hate and anger, but also shows that some are willing to change their ways.
From well-respected Director Craig Ross, the film Blue Hill Avenue is a story about four tight knit friends living in the streets of rough a 1980’s Boston. The main characters of the film are Tristan, E Bone, Simon, and Money, these four characters grow up together hustling the streets. After finding a way to make money the four characters go from small time hustlers to big time dope dealers under the guidance of their supplier, Benny who is the main villain of the film. Through the adventure of the storyline, these four friends highlight the characteristics of what it is to embrace traditional masculinity and what it is to be a man.
The MPAA rating system is outdated. The recent advances in technology allow children to see movies regardless of the rating. The rating system worked well for the early years, but recently “kids slip into the movies they want to see. . . . The Tuskegee Study, as exampled in the film “Miss Evers’ Boys,” was a horrendous example of the result of racism, a vulnerable population, and the manipulation of people not given the proper dignity they deserved, to benefit the majority class (Woodard). According to the film, in this study a whole community of African Americans went decades with identified cases of syphilis, being given placebo interventions and unjustifiably told that a later recognized intervention of penicillin shots were too risky for their use. Why would they do this? To gain knowledge; and they viewed the study as a “pure” scientific experiment, a human trial that would likely never be acceptable to have been conducted on Whites of the time, and under the full knowledge and aid of the U.S. government (Woodard, “Miss Evers’ Boys”).
In the play Glengarry Glen Ross, selling is like a complicated courtship. Richard Roma is sales. Throughout the play, we never once get a true insight into the real Richard Roma. All we know is that he is good at his job, greedy and calculating. His demeanor changes on a dime; he is whoever he needs to be in whatever situation he happens to be in. This is his edge.

Most of the jokes made in the film are harmless, but some contain choice words parents may not want their children to hear. The following conversation between Princess Fiona and Shrek exemplifies one of those jokes: "Where are you going? The exit's over there!" "Well, I have to save my ass." Although Shrek was referring to Donkey, parents more than likely won't want their children repeating the word ass out of context. Despite the unfitting dialogue, the plot of the film overshadows any questionable attributes.

There are often misspelt words in the dialogues and this happens when a character learns a new word and tries to use it without knowing the correct spelling and sometimes even the full meaning of it. “‘And it’s no good looking at the Six Pine Trees for Piglet… because he’s been organdized in a special place of his own.’”(P37) The spelling of “organised” is not correct and the second part of the dialogue does not make too much sense either and this is because Pooh only just learnt the word from Rabbit. For this assignment, I decided to do my film review on To Kill a Mockingbird (Mulligan, R., & Pakula, A. (Directors). (1962). To Kill a Mockingbird[Motion picture on VHS]. United States of America.) I have a personal connection to this film because it is one of my most beloved novels by Harper Lee. I have never watched the film so it was a nice experience to see the characters I have loved for years come to life just before my eyes. The film particularly focuses on a white family living in the South of the United States in the 1930s. The two siblings, Jem and Scout Finch, undergo major changes while experiencing evil and injustice in their small town of Maycomb. Jem and Scout’s father is named Atticus and he is a well-respected man in the town as well as being a lawyer.

I would recommend Tracy Kidder’s writing to friends for when they get bored. Being such an amazing writer must have been tough as hell. The story and the writer both are worth checking on.
