The fifth symphony was finished in 1808. There are four parts in the symphony. For the first time Beethoven succeeded in making the four-part symphonic cycle so unified and inseparable can be considered. All four parts of the symphony are united by one and the same formidable and imperative theme, which sounds at the beginning of the work as an epigraph. The composer himself said about it: "fate knocking at the door" (Web). For the first time Beethoven unites the four-part symphonic cycle with a single thought, a single idea: "from darkness to light, through struggle to victory." The music of course was the main focus and for me I really enjoyed The fountains of Rome. This piece was near the end but I found myself to really enjoy The Fountains of the valle Giulia at Dawn which opened up with an oboe, and sounded like I was right near a fountain in the morning. Birds were chirping as the day started with a beautiful peaking of the sun beginning. The Triton Fountain in the Morning had an interesting beginning that started off with a high pitch. At first the horn frightened me but it set the tone with the violins mixed with some sort of symbol as if we were jumping right into the morning. It contained so much excitement in it, like a bursting ray of emotion. However, I did dislike one piece due to it contrasting too much to my favorite piece of the symphony. From The Pines of the Villa Borghese it came at me like a sudden rush, it abruptly ruined the subtle calm feeling I was experiencing too quickly and made it feel like I had an orchestra chasing after me. My favorite piece from the symphony was The Fountain of Rome was La fontana di villa Medici al tramonto. This one particularly caught my interest because it felt like it tied everything together by stringing emotion along. The entire songs presence was calming and subtle as everything was slowed down with a softer dynamic. What really drew me in was
Appalachian Symphony Orchestra performed, Morning,Noon, and Night in Boone. The Orchestra was arranged on stage in a normal set up, the concertmaster was on the left hand side of the Conductor, the strings in the front, woodwinds in the middle, and brass and percussions in the back. The instruments in the back were on an elevated platform, so there sound could project and be heard. Before the conductor came out, the concertmaster signaled each section to play a note. Once, the conductor came out the crowd went crazy, they clapped loudly and shouted. And Mrs. Orth was so happy and kind and thanked everyone.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed an exemplary piece of classical music that can be seen in television and films of the twenty-first century. Mozart would hear a complete piece in his head before he would write it down. He created pieces that had simple melodies, but also the orchestration sounded rich. Out of the forty-one symphonies Mozart composed, I have chosen Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor or better known as The Great G Minor Symphony, written in 1788. Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 is considered the most popular out of all forty-one symphonies because the opening movement is very memorable. Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 is effectively composed through the use of a specific form, elements of music, and using the appropriate instruments so one can see brilliant scenes unfolding.
In Beethoven’s early quartets, he takes great inspiration from both Mozart and his tutor, Joseph Haydn. Before Beethoven wrote his first quartet he had already written several different compositions for he wanted to really establish his own style of writing first. Op. 18, No. 1 in F, was first written in 1799 but still remains close to the Haydnesque and Mozartian quartet writing style, but the young Beethoven begins to place in his own ideas. This can be seen in the very first movement (see example 1).

The symphony is presented in 4 movements as is common and begins with a Poco Sostenuto- Vivace, followed by a Allegretto movement, Presto movement, and finally ends on an Allegro con brio movement. the central theme of this piece is introduced in the first movement by a flute playing in tripple meter continuously ascending up the scales rising in dynamic contrast, continuing to grow into a louder and more stark contrast between it’s highs and lows. Consistently dance like, the piece is celebratory of its roots buried in historical Austrian music that has been present in the culture for years. The accomplishments of the soldiers for which the piece was composed for are easily told of simply by the energy and power present throughout the piece.

Symphony No. 6 is one of Beethoven's few programmatic works and describes a county scene. It is titled "Recollections of country life". It has 5 movements, unusual for a classical symphony. The first movement is in sonata form and is titled "Awakening of cheerful feelings upon arrival in the country". It has two beautiful rustic themes. The second movement is titled "Scene at the brook" and depicts a bubbling stream on a calm day. It is also in sonata form with two flowing themes. The third movement is a scherzo and depicts a country dance being titled "Happy gathering of country folk". It is an unusual scherzo with the scherzo section played only once before continuing to the trio. After the trio, instead of returning to the scherzo, a short section in 2/4 time interrupts. Then the scherzo is played followed by the trio again. The 2/4 section appears a second time, followed by the scherzo one last time. The dancing in the third movement is interrupted by raindrops ushering in the fourth movement, titled "Thunderstorm".
The Beethoven Symphony #9 in D minor is being announced during the 4th movement of the symphony. Typically, in symphonies, the 4th movements take part in the term of Allegro, which means it is played quickly or fast. However, in Beethoven Symphony, the 4th movement opens with a flurry sound and then is introduced by an instrumental recitative. A recitative is a style of music alternating between speaking and singing words on the same note. In a recitative, the music lines are not repeated even though formally composed songs do.
On Sunday, April 19 2015 at 2:00 pm in Carnegie hall, the American Symphony Orchestra performed five pieces by various composers. The pieces performed at the American Symphony Orchestra include Alleluia, Dream-king and his love, Symphony NO.2, Music for Cello and Orchestra, and Cantares. Various well-known composers such as Randall Thompson, Horatio Parker, George Rochberg, Leon Kirchner, and Roberto Sierra composed the pieces included. All of which have an amazing skill and talent in composing music, which has been demonstrated by the American Symphony Orchestra.
Tchaikovsky is one of the most popular of all composers. The reasons are several and understandable. His music is extremely tuneful, opulently and colourfully scored, and filled with emotional passion. Undoubtedly the emotional temperature of the music reflected the composer's nature. He was afflicted by both repressed homosexuality and by the tendency to extreme fluctuations between ecstasy and depression. Tchaikovsky was neurotic and deeply sensitive, and his life was often painful, but through the agony shone a genius that created some of the most beautiful of all romantic melodies. With his rich gifts for melody and special flair for writing memorable dance tunes, with his ready response to the atmosphere of a theatrical situation and his masterly orchestration, Tchaikovsky was ideally equipped as a ballet composer. His delightful fairy-tale ballets, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker are performed more than any other ballets. Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky's first ballet, was commissioned by the Imperial Theatres in Moscow in 1875. He used some music from a little domestic ballet of the same title, composed for his sister Alexandra's children in 1871.
