Hideous Beasts
Love can’t be forced, or expected from others just because you’re brave, popular, rich, or look as if you’re flawless to the bone. In the past twenty three years there have been movies created to display this notion; such as “Beauty and the Beast”, and a modern version called “Beastly”. Beauty and the Beast is a fantasy/animation film made in the year of 1991. Beastly is a fantasy/drama film made in the year of 2011. Also, both films display how people see beyond ones image, and can love someone not for what they appear to be.
Beauty and the Beast is one of Disney's beloved modern classics, which is the first animated feature film in the history of the Oscars nominated for Best Picture (Disney Movies). This movie was about a prince who was selfish, spoiled, and unkind. The prince was offered a single rose by a beggar in trade of shelter, but he was taken aback by the woman’s appearance. The woman told the prince not to be deceived, and that beauty was found on the inside. After the prince had dismissed the beggar a second time, he realized the beggar was not ugly; but a beautiful enchantress. Kyle played by Alex Pettyfer, was a lonely 17 year old high school student who came off as if everything in his life was perfect. He was an only child that lived with his dad; who was more into his work than being a father. In the movie Kyle only had his charm to go off of.
