Caution! This article contains minor spoilers for the 2017 WonderWoman Film
#Batgirl is just as important to the Batman universe as well, Batman himself. With this year’s #SDCC come and gone, it was only a matter of time before got information on upcoming film projects.
It was announced that #Avengers director and creator of #BuffyTheVampireSlayer, #JossWhedon would be taking on the long rumoured film project, Batgirl. Whedon is no stranger to the superhero genre having directed the first two Avengers films for Marvel.
According to ComicBookMovie.com, Whedon has said the following:
“She came up and I started getting obsessed with how a young woman could get hardcore enough to need to

She is virtually everywhere these days and it has nothing to do with the fact that she comes from a famous family. Yeah, her dad might be singer and actor Lenny Kravitz, her mother is actress Lisa Bonet and her stepdad is Jason Momoa AKA #Aquaman but that has nothing to do with her amazing acting skills. She has featured in some of the world’s most well known franchises including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Divergent. She co-starred with Rosario Dawson in the Lego Batman Movie where she had the small role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman. It’s safe to say that she would make a good choice to play …show more content…
Despite The Joker being an enemy of Batman, he is just as high up on Barbara’s hit list of villains as well. After all, he is the one that abuses her and assaults her to the point that she becomes paralysed, hence becoming Oracle.
#BlackCanary
Fans of the CW series #Arrow might not be aware but Black Canary is often associated with Batgirl. She is the daughter of a vigilante and a cop so she was a born crime fighter. As to what which name she uses (Dinah or Laurel) it is entirely up for debate.
#BarbaraKean
You cannot have Batgirl as being Barbara Gordon without some mention of her mother, Barbara Kean. If they do end up showing both Barbaras it would interesting to see what kind of relationship they have.
Robin’s Involvement
A vital part of the Batman family is Robin. Depending on the timeline that the film takes place in, Robin would play a role no matter how big or small it might be. They could incorporate the romantic interaction between Robin/Nightwing and Batgirl like there was in the comics and various animated projects.
What is great about Dick Grayson’s relationship with Barbara is that it could explored in a number of ways. Their first meeting through to their platonic relationship to their romantic
But I do know one thing, Batman was there for us when we needed him the most. He separated us from our darkest nightmares every night. He guarded our houses and protected our families, our friends, and our children. Batman stood up for what he believed, he always had us, the people of Gotham in his best interest. What more could we have asked Batman to do? I could stand up here and say "I never knew the man," but that might not be the truth. During my life, I have known many men, many men who are full of strength, courage, and virtue. Any of these men could have been the Batman and I would have never been aware. However good men still walk among us today, even without Batman. These good men and women are my hope, my consolation for
Billionaire playboy by day and Gotham’s saviour by night; Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale) is finding his double life burdensome. He considers ending his superhero days and attempts to find someone Gotham can look up to for encouragement and reassurance. Turning to Gotham’s new ‘white knight’, District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman, along with incorruptible ally Lt. Gordon (Gary Oldman), attempts to eradicate organized crime for good. Maggie Gyllenhaal joins the star-studded cast as Rachel Dawes, showing a much softer side to her character than Katie Holmes.
Bruce Wayne, Batman’s secret identity, is an American billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and owner of Wayne Enterprises. Batman is one of the most well-known and well-liked superheroes of all time probably because of all of the comics, TV shows, movies and video games with him in it. Many are interested in Batman mainly because he is human, has no super powers and no special abilities just like a normal person but continues in many super human things using his gadgets, a body suit and a brilliant mind. Not only are these some of the differences between him and some other super heroes but he wants to see justice served and to defeat his enemies because he focuses on what is right and what is wrong. Batman has starred in about fourteen films both as a starring character and as an ensemble character beginning in 1943 and the latest in 2012 with two more coming in 2016 and 2017. Having earned a total of U.S. $1,900,844,295, the Batman series is the fifth-highest-grossing film series in North America. The first full-length movie of batman made in 1989 shows that to overcome great diversity one must step out of the bounds of what is socially and morally acceptable though the characterization of Batman, the contrast between
In origin, a hero is an archetype character that refers to protectors, warriors, or god-like man who protects humanity. For instance, Hercules was a hero in Greek mythology. In modern culture, heroism is recognized as an extremely popular trait that a character can possess. In this case, Bat Man, also referred to as The Dark Knight, is indisputably idealized as a hero. Unlike most superheros in comicbooks culture, Bat Man is a simple human being with absolutely no superpowers. Regardless of that, he as a simple human being still exhibits the courage, intelligence, talent and the necessary skills in fighting crime and defeating potentially hazardous villains seeking to either rule the world or cause destruction. In detail, Bat Man’s real name is Bruce Wayne. Bruce was 10 years old when his parents were murdered which fundamentally change his perception about the world. After his parents’ death, Bruce inherited a multibillion dollar company that his father created before his birth, which explains why he has the most advanced technology to help him fight crime. While growing up, Bruce trained himself to fight and had been working out. One night, he came to the conclusion that Gotham city is falling into the hands of criminals. For that reason, he convinced himself that it should be his obligation to prevent it, although he needed a hero identity to hide his real identity
In The Dark Knight, the second film of Christopher Nolan's trilogy, Batman (Christian Bale) teams up with Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to clean up the streets of Gotham City. However, a wrench is thrown into their plans with the appearance of the incredibly disturbed and sadistic criminal known as The Joker (Heath Ledger), who aims to stop their “war on crime” by causing destruction and havoc. He begins his crime spree with a bank robbery and then uses the money he gets from it to stage a variety of devastating stunts. The movie is regarded most highly for Ledger's performance, but another important factor in the films success was Nolan's more plausible interpretation of Batman and his story. The film brings out a version of the hero that is less camp and kitsch and more gritty and real, at the expense of the franchise's fun, but to the addition of a more relatable story.
Gotham is Batman’s hometown and an incredibly corrupt place. It is well known for its corrupt police department, which turns a blind eye to Batman’s questionable actions, since they are for the sake of the city. The city produces deviance because of the officials and police officers which shy away from addressing crimes. Although Batman is committing crimes in order to fight crime, this is not necessarily moral. While Batman is ultimately solving the city’s
...nstead of being born with powers, revenge gave birth in Bruce's heart and diligent pursuit of expertise haunted his every dream. Therefore, Bruce is a self-made prevention vigilante for Gotham City.
Batman’s villains are all gangsters and clinically insane humans who could easily be in the real world. None of his villains have any type of power or special abilities instead they use firearms and henchman to accomplish their goals. Many times it is up to Batman to stop these violent criminals from committing crimes that we see daily such as robberies and murders. A true superhero fights super villains with god like powers. Batman could never stand-alone against a villain such as doomsday or darkseid who both have multiple powers such as super strength and teleportation. He simply isn’t a contender to defend the earth against a god like threat as oppose to a real superhero such as Superman.
Somebody who had established higher power in their community. Somebody who tried to run from fate, and has the moment of recognition and understanding of their destiny. Batman. Even though he is considered the strong and powerful superhero of Gotham City, Batman's characteristic features show that he relates strongly to that of a "tragic" hero. In the beginning, the Batman is presented at a higher state of appreciation, even though the police see him as a vigilante. Despite his wealth, Batman, otherwise known as Bruce Wayne, is easily relatable to audiences, which makes it easy to sympathize and empathize with the character. Batman is in a constant battle within himself, trying to be the good guy, while defeating the bad guys. His morals prove true when he admits that he won't kill any of the many villians that cause destruction for Gotham City. But, because of this moral, sometimes the villians end up escaping and doing more harm then good. In the end, this interal chaos and internal battle is seen interally and externally through Batman. At the end of the most recent Batman series, The Dark Knight, his exit at the end of the movie is, in essence, his figurative death. Bruce Wayne wants to keep Gotham City safe. And with the "Batman" gone, villians will be least likely to continue to destroy and conquer. As an audience, we cling to the edge of our seats and feel dismay for our beloved superhero and what is to become of
Batman wanted to settle things with the Joker. He wanted to become friends. He wanted to stop the ongoing fight that the Joker and him were having. We will now look at the Joker. The Joker didn’t want to become friends in The Killing Joke. Therefore, Batman fought to defend Barbara and Gordon. Batman doesn’t try to intentionally hurt someone. Batman is there to protect and defend you from all harm. When your parents die, you have to mentally become stronger. Bruce Wayne had to show the world that he was strong so he became Batman. It would get him involved with changing the world for the
In Batman (1989) by Tim Burton, Jack Nicholson played the role of the Joker. One important fact of his evaluation as the Joker in this movie is analyzing his origin story. The Joker betraying his boss (Carl Grissom) causes him to turn into the Joker for the first time by falling into Acme chemicals. This happened because Jack Napier (Joker) was having an affair with his boss 's mistress where Carl Grissom manipulated him to rob a chemical company. Here is where Batman first appeared and tried
He had to go through various mob figures in Gotham to get ahead in society and in the criminal underworld. At first he was a thief, however, as the film progresses, Joker’s role is more defined as a criminal mastermind. His only hobby, as he puts it, “is spreading anarchy.” Joker’s true ambition is to spread chaos. In the scene when police caught Joker and Batman went to talk to him, Batman was angry and asked Joker where District Attorney Harvey Dent and his love Rachel are located. Batman unleashes a violent fury that tests his moral standards and Joker is laughing because he is getting what he wants changing batman and his number one rule” Batman doesn’t kill.” Joker is also trying to show that a hero even like Batman can fall if
Batman was created after Detective Comics (D.C.) wanted a new super hero to follow-up after Superman. In May of 1933, Bob Kane and Bill Finger created Batman. Bob was born on October 24, 1915 and died November 3, 1998. Bill was born February 8, 1914 and died January 1974. Bill always loved comics as a child and still when he went to high school at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx New York. He and Bob went to the same high school but never socialized because they were in different classes. Bob meet Bill when Bill was working as a shoe salesman. They worked on many comics together for kids comic books and local newspapers. When they found out that Detective Comics (D.C.) wanted a new super hero they went to work. One day Bob came to Bill with a character, Batman. Bill liked the idea but said it looked too much like Superman. The original illustration had a Robin style mask and red outfit. So Bob took a Webster’s Dictionary and found a picture of a bat. He added bat ears to the mask, giving the full mask a more mysterious look. He changed the colors to black and yellow and added a cape that was cut like bat wings. When writing the comics Bill made Batman’s personality a...

Any fan of Batman knows that “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” are two of the best Batman films made in the seventy-eight years that Batman has been around. The plots really make you look deep in yourself and show the true and more real sides of the characters of the Batman world.
