Choice and Reasons for Topic
My choice is the influence of aviation on Singaporean Students, namely those in Secondary Schools, Polytechnics and Junior Colleges, and the impact on them. My project would look at the positive and negative social impacts on students who are flying and those who plan on doing so .
Supporting the relevance of my choice of topic is (Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, 2011) who says that we must “…ignite new passion for aviation among our youth and develop them.” Furthermore, the existence of the Singapore Youth Flying Club , where Singaporean youths are receiving government sponsored flying trainings showing that government is already pushing aviation to the youths.
However, based on a pilot survey that I have done with my class , Figure 1, out of 16 people, only 2 people were aware that such an opportunity exists. This means that the methods used to push aviation are not effective enough.

Those who have obtained flying training but are unable to obtain their license or enter the Air Force would have developed in themselves many life-skills such as
Ability to multi task even with a lot of information being presented
1. Able to receive and evaluate a lot of information which are being presented such as the engine condition and plane’s speed.
2. This shows how the pilots would know how to evaluate what kind of data is important to them or not as well as think quickly think through the correct suitable to fix any problem.
The ability to multi task, evaluate and act accordingly are considered as valuable skills of a future employee (Susan Adams, Forbes Staff, 2013), with reference to ...

As a child I attended a local air show with my father and came away smitten with aircraft, and the idea of someday being a pilot. The idea of joining the Air Force, which would give me the opportunity to serve in the military while at the same time following my dream of flying airplanes, suited me perfectly. The prospect of a free college education made the idea even better! Throughout high school I devoted my efforts in and out of school to achieving this goal. My pursuit paid off with an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Class of 2004.
Since the time of the World Wars and the Wright brothers, aviation has become a huge part of global society. The Orville and Wilbur Wright’s names will forever be remembered into United States history as the first men who were the first to fully realized human flight. Their successful invention of a working, powered airplane brought about whole new ways of wars, including new strategies for both offense and defense. Many technological advances might not have occurred without the need for new weapons and systems for airplanes. Travel and commerce would be much slower without the usage of airplanes. Orville and Wilbur have made a lasting impact on the world with their invention of a working, human-controlled, powered airplane; who knows what the world would be without it.
There were many milestones in creating “the first airplane.” Many inventors like Joseph Michael and Jacques Etienne Montgolfier who started all the talk that flying is actually possible by launching their first successful hot air balloon in 1783. However, the Wright brothers are accredited with the end result of the airplane’s first successful flight. The Wright Brothers invented and did their testing of their engine propelled airplane in Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. By 1903, the brothers built a biplane named through history as the Wright Flyer (Ethell 19). Aviation has come a long way since the 19th century, from the Wright brothers taking flight with the first powered and controlled gliders, to aircraft that can travel up to supersonic speeds, orbiting satellites and space stations which then were only thought to be science-fiction. Aerospace and aviation has proven to be one of the biggest challenges to advance in the entirety of human existence. There are many factors and characteristics that contributed to this advancement such as the engines of aircraft, forces of flight, aerodynamic forces, wingspans etc. The two most significant aspects however have been; World War 1 and World War 2.
As I have noted, I truly believe that the numerous job skills that are needed to be successful include dedication, communication, and adaptation. First of all, you must be devoted to your career if you want exemplary results. Equally important, being able to articulate your ideas, and intellectually communicate said ideas will ensure a successful time at you occupation. Last but not least, in order to be successful in your employment, you must be flexible to the obstacles that are inevitable. I urge you to strive to obtain these essential job skills because they are worthwhile.
Since the Jet Age, airlines have been entering and existing the airline industry. Some have been in business since the very beginning. For example, United airlines was founded almost twenty-five years before the jet age took off, and due to an incredible amount of money that the airline had by being one of the first airlines predating the Jet Age, was able to buy new jets and assert itself as one of THE giants of air travel by the late 1950’s. But the introduction of new technology paved the way for issues regarding externalities, and production of these new technologies. Once identified, the application tags the area for transmission to the maintenance database and initiates the proper form for the inspector to fill out. The form is completed and then transmitted to the same maintenance database. When the inspector has identified all of the problems with a particular region, voice navigation is used to continue to other areas of the aircraft. The inspector is not required to take any information about the aircraft, previous defect records, clipboards, paper, etc. with them, everything required to perform the inspection is on-line and displayed in a manageable fashion in real time during the inspection. When the inspector completes the inspection, no further input is required. The inspector is not required to take notes and then pass them off to someone else to decipher and input to the system. The information is already in the maintenance database and ready for verification, planning, and scheduling.
The history of aerial flight is often looked at from the perspective of the great moments, from the first flight of the Wright Brothers in 1903, to the Battle of Britain, but many less than stellar moments have perhaps shaped the formation of aviation in ways that may have been overlooked. Heavier-than-air flight, as it were, was in its infancy of development in Britain, due to tightening Government spending and unconvinced investors. Inspection between each flight besides avoiding accidents, it also helps engineers to understand what problems that would be aroused by operation environment. Pre-flight inspection of Aloha 243 was only carried out before the first flight each day which is inadequate. Besides, all inspection records at each inspection should be kept; it records all the status of the parts and help engineers to understand how the aircraft structures would be affected after each operation.
Cruising on a seven-forty-seven, a frequent occurrence in current American society, but a pretty young industry in the broad scope of the United States’ history. It was only a little over one hundred years ago that the first airplane glided for twelve seconds. The impact of air travel can clearly be examined by looking at how humanity operated and communicated without it, how flight was innovated, and how the aviation industry changed different aspects of american life on a national scale.
Flight management systems are one of the best navaids in commercial aviation. The flight management system (FMS) is made up of four systems in an aircraft, the FMC (flight management computer), the autopilot and flight director, the auto throttle, and the IRS’s. According to Boeing the FMS could be defined as, being capable of four dimensional area navigation (latitude, longitude, altitude, and time), while optimizing performance to achieve the most economical flight possible. The flight management system can give you gross weight of the aircraft, and the best speeds (i.e. holding, approach, climb, cruise, descent, etc…) by taking inputs from the fuel summation unit when it is given the zero fuel weight and the MACTOW (mean aerodynamic cord at takeoff weight). The position of the aircraft can also be determined by referencing the IRS, along with GPS and the radio position updating.
Lets think about a job that allows you to soar through the air like an eagle, without a care in the world, the job of a pilot is an amazing job that provides you with three things freedom, fully using your sight, and control.
