Introduction
Aviation has a huge environmental impact to the environment and society, the aircraft engines releases a noise that affects human life and the particulates and gases that are released from the aircraft engines contribute to climate change and increases the global warming. Despite the emission reductions from cars and more fuel-efficient and less polluting turbofan and turboprop engines, the rapid growth of air transportation in the recent years contributes to an increase in total pollution attributable to aviation. In the European Union, and increased greenhouse gas emissions from aviation increased by 87% between 1990 and 2006. Like any other form of public mass transportation that relies on resources that are extracted from the planet for e.g. Oil, and the airline cannot be considered sustainable in the long-term too. Because of the limited resources in which the Aviation relies on, it is more realistic to think how to improve the sustainability of the air transportation rather than achieving a sustainable development. Demand for air transport is growing constantly and, if this demand is to be met with all the benefits associated, the community or society must also accept the costs like; (Pollution, Aircraft noise, Environment change, risk, and resources consumption, etc.).

As airline industry is a competitive marketplace, the airline companies use new technologies to improve their efficiency and decrease the overhead costs, including ‘advanced aircraft engine technology, IT solutions, and mobile technology’ (Cederholm 2014). The technology changes including technology improvement, new innovation and disruptive technology. The disruptive technology need to meet the characteristics of ‘simplicity, convenience, accessibility and affordability’ (Christensen 1995). The technology changes would bring both opportunities and threats to airline companies. Since Labour cost and fuel costs occupy 50% of most airlines operating cost (Groot 2014). The Earth’s biosphere is being affected by climate change in numerous ways. The interactions that occur between the hydrosphere and atmosphere are leading to changes in our ocean’s chemistry that could be devastating to humans in the future generations to come. Climate change is the modification in the climate patterns. The effects of climate change have become particularly apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and have been substantially contributed to by the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels.

There are 328,000,000 cubic miles of seawater on the planet, covering approximately 71 percent of the earth's surface. Ninety-seven percent of all water is in the oceans. The other three percent is divided amongst the two percent ice and one percent fresh water. Making earth’s waters composed mostly of salt water. Salt water covers most of our planet indicating climate change to have a giant impact on our oceans. Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order to start making a difference, the federal government should increase gasoline tax by one dollar a gallon. Fifty percent of this dollar will go towards public transportation, since passenger cars and trucks are a major contribution towards air pollution, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, E.P.A (10/4, http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/emsns.html). Due to the expected increase after this is put forth, the remaining fifty percent of the dollar will go towards safety on these transits. Central idea: The involvement of technology has change the Earth’s atmosphere, it is important to understand how can air pollution in the community, and how it involves with the emissions of vehicles.
Macroeconomic environment: The airline industry has proven particularly sensitive to phenomena such as terrorist attacks, wars, outbreaks (SARS), drastic currency fluctuations, and the like. These phenomena tend to have a significant impact on the cost of fuel, overall demand for air transportation, tourism, etc.
This identifies the main micro-environmental influences by classifying them into six groups: Political, Economical, Sociocultural, Technological, Environmental and Legal. By applying this framework to Ryanair it is possible to summarise the key forces in the general environment (see appendix A) likely to present opportunities and threats to the organisation (Johnson & Scholes 2002).
