I am doing my book report on the “Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin”. I chose this book because I think Benjamin Franklin has a lot of history behind him. In this report I am going to tell about all the things Benjamin Franklin did that were important. I am also going to tell about where he grew up and when he was born. Benjamin Franklin was born back in 1706. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and also grew up there. Benjamins father was a soapmaker and also a candlemaker when Benjamin was very young. Later on, Benjamin Franklin started working for the government. He was doing printing work. Benjamin Franklin was also inventing things and working on new projects and he also became postmaster of Philadelphia for some of his writings. Benjamin Franklin was beginning to have interest in lightning. After he retired his printing company he began studying a lot on lightning.While studying lightning he came up with many experiments that drew attention to many scientists. While experimenting he invented the lightning rod and it was a very unique invention to many people. He also found out that lightning was electricity and this is when he used a kite and a key and invented electricity which we now use today. He was then given degrees from colleges for his writings. After he was rewarded for these degrees he was then known as postmaster general of America. Benjamin Franklin played a very important part organizing in the War effort. Benjamin Franklin was drafting proposals for the French and Indian war. Benjamin Franklin was setting up funds to raise some money. He was trying to raise money for the Colonial defense.

Benjamin Franklin also supported the Stamp Act. Benjamin was not against the Stamp Act. Benjamin voted that they should reveal and pass the Stamp Act. After the Stamp Act was passed Benjamin thought there was no more to do since the battle was over. But then Benjamin noticed how everyone was not happy with the Stamp Act being passed so he changed his mind about it. There was nothing he could do about it then so he then started studying more and making new inventions.

Benjamin Franklin was known for many things. He helped set up a fire company in Philadelphia. He also set up the first library in America. This is one of the few things that made in famous throughout the world. He also set up the first public academy which took place in Philadelphia too.
