Food and Nutrition Language and Literacy Writing Task The Australia Dietary Guidelines gives advice for healthy eating and wellbeing. The Australian Dietary Guidelines informs you about the amount of health food that you should be consuming. The Australian Dietary Guidelines are there to help people reduce the risk of food related conditions such as diabetes type two, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity. Exercising regularly can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. You don’t need to go to the gym to exercise, doing small actives such as walking somewhere sort distance instead of taking the car or even do some exercises whilst watching T.V. Exercising boost energy, reduces stress, helps you sleep better and lifts our mood. It’s important to eat regular to ensure that your body gets the required amount of energy to move. Skipping a meal doesn’t help loss weight, it means that you will be more likely to eat more during the next meal. The purpose of the Australian Dietary Guidelines is to help people control their weight and the proper foods to eat. There are five main food groups to the dietary guidelines which are meats/ poultry, vegetables, fruits, grains/ bread and dairy. The dietary guideline implies you to eat 1 piece of meat, 5 vegetables (1/2 cup), 2 pieces of fruit, 2 dairy products and 7 serves of grains. All this should been consumed in one day to maintain a healthy weight and diet. I personally don’t eat 2 pieces of fruit a day but I do eat 5 vegetables every day, I don’t eat 7 different grains I only eat about 2 different grains but not every day only one a week.
