This quote shows the importance that arts education has on young students. Most of the public school systems in America do not give the arts and music departments in schools enough money to thrive and grow. Public Schools in the United States of America lack funding for the arts and music programs in the school systems.

This quote talks about many of the social benefits that arts education can have throughout the lives of the young students. Some of the benefits from early exposure to arts and music in public schools are academic success, and more significant brain development. ¨According to Shirley Brice Heath, researcher at the Stanford University and Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, arts education has an enormous impact on the lives of children¨ (Petress). Many studies have proven that students who participate in the arts in school have been positive impacted by doing so. Many examples of the impacts that the arts have on students´ lives are that they are more likely to be rewarded for academic achievement and are more likely to be elected in class offices. Many students who have participated in the arts also are more likely to be awarded for creative writing, more likely to participate in math or science fairs and are likely to have perfect school attendance.
