One day I was skateboarding down the ramp. The gripping was peeling off and my front wheels hit it and almost broke one of my arms. The skate park is falling apart and this community needs to do something about it. Axpessually before someone gets hurt really bad. This community could have a lot safer and a lot more fun skate park. This skate park is to dangerous for a lot of people because of the gripping. Updating the park would take all that away and make it a lot safer. It would also encourage kids to get up off their couches and ride First, it would make the skate park safer. If anyone wrecks they will not have to worry about getting a tetanus shot. Everything up at the park is all rusted. Once the Bager Park gets an update, it will make
Another reason that scooters shouldn't be allowed at the skatepark is that the skatepark are getting overpopulated. A lot of things get more dangerous when they are busy. For example highways, streets and especially skateparks. You always hold your kids hand when they cross the street so why would you just let them free? Skateboards are like cars flying out and could hit you.
parks system is a great way to get away. If we continue to allow our parks to
The Turn of the Screw by Henry James has been the cause of many debates about whether or not the ghosts are real, or if this is a case of a woman with psychological disturbances causing her to fabricate the ghosts. The story is told in the first person narrative by the governess and is told only through her thoughts and perceptions, which makes it difficult to be certain that anything she says or sees is reliable. It starts out to be a simple ghost story, but as the story unfolds it becomes obvious that the governess has jumps to conclusions and makes wild assumptions without proof and that the supposed ghosts are products of her mental instability which was brought on by her love of her employer
During the 1950’s when skateboarding first got it’s legs it was a very popular activity to take part in during vacations to ocean side tourist attractions, or as an activity after surfing. Yet, by 1965, skateboarding had diminished in popularity completely, therefore almost every skateboard manufacturer went out of business. . During this time the only people who even wanted to skateboard were surfers who needed something to ride to practice their surfing while the waves were flat. Due to the fact that there were no skateboards being made or sold, those who wanted to skate had to take it upon them-selves to manufacture their own boards. Using any kind of scrap they could find to build a usable board out of, such as metal scrap pieces or old planks. These determined surfers had to unscrew the trucks and wheels off of roller skates and attach them to the bottom of their boards. And because these kids were from very poor families for the most part, and next to non had jobs of their own, they had to resort to taking the trucks and wheels off the roller skates secretly in the stores. Although.., the clay wheels th...
Skate boarding is a popular sport amongst today’s modern teens; it provides them with a sport other than the conventional everyday sports as was mentioned earlier. If there was to be a skate park here in town it would give the local skaters a feeling of acceptance, as well as let them know that their talents do not go unheard. A park pacifically made for skaters would give the skate boarders of our community a sense of ownership, as well as pride for the park. I n conclusion, I think that the idea of a skate park would dramatically increase the acceptance of the skaters in the community. Along with this it would adequately relieve many of the undesired results that arise due to the lack of a skate park, in addition to this it would help skaters to use their amazing talents to prosper.
Each area has age appropriate sized equipment to engage children from two to twelve. The playground passed all of the four categories: supervision, age appropriate design, fall surfacing, and equipment maintenance. Evaluation of the playground equipment resulted in only two “no” checkmarks due to the fact that it lacked a sign indicating the age group for the equipment and the expected behavior rules were not posted. Other than that, the newly installed playground received a “yes” checkmark in all of the other criteria. The playground was designed to allow parents to sit and watch their children with ease in an unobstructed play area. Clearly, there were separate areas for younger children with smaller slides and a separate swing set for toddlers. The structure itself was appropriately designed and did not have any areas that could be climbed on that were not intended to be climbed on. Soft sand blanketed the playground and the equipment height was within the recommended height requirements which made it safe. All footings were properly covered and no gaps, missing parts, protruding bolts, or broken equipment were seen. Therefore, this playground is deemed safe and free from potential
If a town has a skatepark that is built in the right spot and is also built correctly it could improve the looks of the town. Improving the looks of the town will attract people and skaters from everywhere. In order for this to happen the park has to be designed and built professionally. A few rails and ramps that are placed on the outskirts of the town are not going to improve the looks of anything. But, if a nice park is built in a busy, populated area where there are lots of people it will looks great. Not only do skateparks look good, but if it designed and constructed correctly, they are fiscally conservative and require little maintenance(Whitly). After they are built they practically last forever.
Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.
While the slogan has great meaning of being the place where we create skateboarding with passion, I believe we can change it slightly to have a pathetic approach towards people. By adding “For Skaters everywhere” in the slogan, it makes the skaters the center of attention and shows how valuable they are to us, making them feel like they are important. Also, by adding that quote we also target many other demographic from age, gender, and race so that nobody will be left out. This is good because we want everyone to feel important when they own a Duster Board and be included in the community. With a slight change to the slogan, we can now express how important everyone is when we make Duster
All these cons could be solved and worked around. There could be a fee placed if you do not follow the laws of the dog park. You could also have the dog park in a location that is not near too many residential homes. The community could have fund raisers to earn the money required to build the dog park instead of taking the money from
First, parking on campus needs improving. . Baton Rouge community college needs to expand their parking lot because it be complicated trying to find a parking spot on campus. With every new freshmen students that’s just coming out of high school is taking up most of the parking spaces. I believe parking passes should be free for students because students have to park sometimes in Mc Donald parking lot because they don’t have no other choice. Also there needs to be additional parking on campus and also for those that are visiting the campus. The parking lots have also plenty of pot holes that can damage student car and can cause a flat tire. If a student hit another student car it’s hard to find out who did it because there isn’t enough policemen out in the parking lots looking. Brittany
As skateboarding evolved, it was once something kids do in their free time, later became a prospering sport. This started many new changes to our local cities. “No skateboarding” signs are being posted places that skateboarders would go to practice. Architects are finding new ways to redesign structures like benches and handrails in the city, in order to lower the abundance of skateboarder in an area. All these changes have resulted in a good amount of money spent redoing everything to prevent skateboarding, but nothing is being done to give skateboarders a safe place to skate. For young teens whose only transportation is a skateboard, they can only travel so far, and skateparks are not close enough. To eliminate the amount of skateboarders in heavily populated areas, I propose that cities invest more money into building skateparks so skateboarders have a safe place to practice the sport.
The grip tape is needed for a skater to maintain control over the board by the means and the uses of friction, Unforttmately grip tape helps wear at the ollie area (an area of the shoe that is just behind a person's smallest toe on the outer side of the foot) and the sole rapidly. Grip tape is necessary for street skating tricks (examples: ollies, kick flips, nose grinds and nollies) and ramp skating. If there was no grip tape vert skaters (skateboaders who skate on ramps) would lose control over their board easily, there by raising the risk of danger and serious accidents. Vert skating is already rather risky. Who needs more broken bones? Street skaters depend on their grip tape for special moves lik...
I would like to see the parking and traffic crunch on and around this campus eased. Unless a student arrives before 8 o'clock in the morning or in the afternoon, cruising the parking lots or streets for a place to park is routine. Even buying a parking sticker does not mean you will have the privilege of a space. Competition for spaces during the rush hours of 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. is cutthroat. Would-be parkers stake out sections of a parking row and sit in their cars hoping someone in their section will leave. The other ploy is to try and catch someone who is just walking back to their car in order to plead for that space. lf these tricks fail, the only thing left is to park far away on the street and walk.
Just as important as the tiny details of the park that were overlooked, if not more important, was the technical failures associated with human stupidity. When the park was designed, the humans controlling this aspect of the Park obviously didn't consider that there could be problems in the system.
