Argumentative Essay: The Second Amendment

The second amendment, which is the right to keep and bear arms, has been a controversial topic for many years, yet nothing has really been done other than cause mass chaos within the government and its people. I decided to see what the Republicans and Democrats thoughts were at the state level. Both websites were formated the same way, each having information about their part, how to take action, media, and events going on around the communities. Neither had a search bar, which was unfortunate because the websites weren’t set up to show their viewpoints on certain issues. The Democratic website sent you straight to what they call their “Party's Platform.” Which is just one long documate sectioned off in incredibly small ink and spacing. They had it in 8 sections, all detailing a different subject per say, they had government reforms, agriculture, and rebirth of a constitutional government-which is the one I chose. Immediately it showed an index with every amendment and a link detailing what their stance was on it. Their stance was poorly written on the other hand, it just slightly summarized their success in stopping some gun laws from passing and added in some of their stances. I feel that they aren’t really as solid as they could have been and you have to read slightly between the lines and fill in the gaps with your own interpretation with how it was written. “We salute the Republican Congress for defending the right to keep and bear arms by preventing the President from installing a new liberal majority on the Supreme Court. The confirmation to the Court of additional anti-gun justices would eviscerate the Second Amendment’s fundamental protections.” It just seems a bit extra, when this piece should be about what you support and not what you have
