If you haven't heard the debate about organ donation, well you are in for a treat. The population will have soared to 8 million by our lifetimes. The rate of birth to death has dramatically increased due to the cutting edge medical techniques and medicines produced. Meaning that people are living longer than before. People are facing medical problems such as getting cancer, assaulted, or being in an accident where they would need a new organ. The waiting time for a new organ takes around weeks to months to years, potentially not even getting a new organ. People get so desperate that they go to illegal black markets to get one. I agree that we need to increase the supply of cadaver organs because volunteer programs have not produced enough organ,but having mandatory organ donation would cause …show more content…

Another solution to this would be using artificial organs created by scientists, and as well having volunteering to donate an organ. First of all, the mandatory organ donation approach faces obvious and enormous obstacles. In the Case of Mandatory Organ Donation by Scott Carney, the author states that the only way to increase organ donations, and stop the black market business is by making organ donations mandatory after death since they have no use for it. The problem with that idea is the fact that people, specially here in America would not agree with that for various reason such as their religious and natural rights and they don't want to donate. You might say that mandatory organ donation could help us out in the long run, for example in the future you need a organ, and can't easily get one. You do not have to worry about looking or waiting for an organ because there will be an increase in donations due to the fact it is mandatory. Yes, that is a good point but the people have to favor that idea, also there is an unlikely chance of that happening.
