Invasive species can be defined as any alien species that cause economic or environmental harm. They enter new environment through many ways. The invasive species issue is costing the government a huge amount of money every year and until now it is unknown the best way to eradicate them. Senator McConnell should increase funding on a particular species which is the Asian Carp because it's harming the environment. The Asian Carp were introduced in the United States around the 1960’s, the main reason was to filter pond water in fish farms in Arkansas but they managed to escape, infiltrate the Mississippi river and started reproducing by the 1980’s. Therefore, I think the best solution to eliminate them would be to build fences between waterways or poison them. Asian carp quickly spread during heavy rainfall because all the Great Lakes are connected together, therefore it facilitates the access from one lake to others. According to an article, at least 8000liters of fish poison was poured in a lake in order to get rid of the two most dangerous ones (bighead, silver) and that method did work because it killed the majority.
