Kids love it students love it even you love it, but is there something wrong with it. The thing that I am talking about is water bottles. You might think, what is so bad about water bottles? There could be chemicals and germs, students don't recycle the water bottles and lastly, most of the time bottle water is just tap water. For people saying that water bottles are good for you and the workers who make them take extra precautions to keep it clean, I am here to tell you that this information is wrong and the people who are advertising them is wrong they are just trying to make so you will buy it. This is important to know because, ¨Bottled and tap water come from essentially the same sources: lakes, springs and aquifers, to list a few. In fact, in a new significant fraction of the bottled water products on the store shelves are tap water. Filtered and treated to improve taste.¨ In San Francisco the quality of the tap water there is poor because of all the waste. So this is critical information because then we can know that more of our water could be contaminated because of the San Francisco tap water. If you find discolored water, it is because of the tap water because it could have rust in the pipes. Another example of this is Dr. Sarah Janssen said that bottled water isn't ant safer or purer than what comes out of the tap. The reason that people have bad tap water in the bottled water is because people throw the bottles away and it lands up in a landfill. So the tap water would not have been so poor if people recycled away their water bottles. Students should take care of the environment for example like put your water bottles in the recycling container. For example, ¨Only 14% of Americans are recycling water bottles.¨ So this means that the other 85% are littered in landfills. When the water bottles are in the landfills the water bottles are decomposing and the toxic chemicals in the groundwater. This is important because 1 billion water bottles
In the first article "The Curse of Water Bottles" the author is obviously trying to convince people to stop wasting bottles and recycle. For example "There are solutions like using your own personal water bottle and refilling it" and that would save from buying water bottles, and reduce some of the waste. Three Medical Doctors wrote the book, The Water We Drink: Water Quality and Its Effects on Health. Their names are Joshua I. Barzilay, M.D., Winkler G. Weinberg, M.D., and J. William Eley, M.D. In order to put the issue of drinking water quality and its effects on health into perspective, the book is divided into three parts. It first reviews the history of water, disease, and sanitation. The next section deals with health issues. At the conclusion of the book are chapters regarding bottled water and methods of purification. The intent of the book is to educate consumers.
At my school, I am an active member of a program called S.E.E.D., which stands for Students Ending Environmental Destruction. As a group, spread awareness about recycling, water conservation and remediation, climate change, and other environmental problems the world faces today. We make sure that every classroom has a recycling bin and informative posters above them. We have hosted movie nights where we provide healthy, GMO-free refreshments and show an educational film that relates to a current issues to spread awareness. We have also convinced our school to install stations that are specifically meant to refill water bottles as it encourages students to stop buying plastic bottles and wasting plastic. Taking care of the environment and educating our youth, the congressmen, women, and voters of tomorrow who will be the deciding factors of the earth’s health, and consequently the people’s health, is crucial to me.
Researchers have stated that plastic bottles containing water can contain many deadly chemicals. After close examination of the plastic, researchers concluded that some plastics contain chemicals, like phthalates, bisphenol A (BPA), endocrine disrupters, and cancer, may percolate into the water, especially after being stagnant for long periods of time. Likewise, bottled water is not exposed to the rigorous testing tap water endures. Thus, bottled water is more inclined to be contaminated or a source of infection. Tap water is subjected to daily safety testing, bottled water, however, is only tested monthly at the source; twenty-two percent of the water tested contained contaminant levels that exceeded strict health limits. Safety of the people could be secured through banning water bottles.

People drink bottled water so that they do not have to drink tap water when in reality they most likely are drinking some tap water that is mixed into their bottled water. On top of that not only has the bottled water been filtered but it has been found that “22% of tested bottled water brands contained chemical contaminants at levels above strict state health” (Bottled Water Pros and Cons. 2014. Para. 9). In other words, though the water may not have the same weird taste as tap water is does have chemicals in it that are at levels that are not safe to be consuming.
