Vehicles, one of the most used/needed pieces of technology that we have today. Used frequently in an average American's life, mainly for transportation of oneself and/or others. What if someone were to manufacture a vehicle that would revolutionize the way we experience driving forever? Plenty of people always try to improve or invent better technology. A fully functional self-driving vehicle would be a genuine improvement in the world of driving and technology that we have today. These machines not only will be safer driving themselves on the road, but will reduce deaths yearly, while being fuel efficient.
The safety of these self-driving vehicles would be greater than what’s already driven today. Human error plays a role in the safety of people driving and everyone else inside. By eliminating that factor is a step closer to making the people inside safer. Accidents wouldn’t be caused by neglecting to pay attention to the road, or if someone was tired and doze off at the wheel. Texting, just one cause of many deaths in a vehicle. Taking a couple seconds off the road to text can be life or death. I knew of one of these stories in high school, after coming home from a state champion game. A student from the other school was texting coming back home from the game while driving and died in a rollover accident. Not far from texting, drunk driving remains dangerous and stands to be another leading cause of deaths on the road. Imagine somebody being able to get home without having to actually put themselves or others on the road in danger. The term autonomous refers to the capability of acting independently, or having the freedom to do so. A self-driving car is an autonomous car, which has the ability to sense its environment and navigating without any human operations. These types of cars are built to make safe and smart decisions on the road. In the past years, automobile companies have begun to introduce advanced driver assistance systems that are capable of parking, switching lanes, and braking in case of an emergency on their own, without the driver’s assistance. Automated vehicles are capable of maneuvering through street traffic, as well as other natural and man-made obstacles along the way. Therefore, this technology might completely change the methods of transportation.
Self driving cars are not a good idea because they cause people to be lazy. This means that with self driving cars, your license wouldn’t mean a lot. To put it in another way, the drivers wouldn’t really depend on their license due to the self-driving car. So when you get pulled over by the police, you get a ticket for something the car did.

Some of the limitations that come with this self-driving vehicles are that they won't have to kind of instinct a human has. Human nature is to survive at all cost in what ever situation they are in. When it comes to driving, they will make a quick choice and try to avoid any sort of wreck at all cost. The things behind the driver less cars are that they won't have that human instinct in them unless they are programmed with millions of different scenarios to avoid wrecks. They can also help maximize fuel economy by calculating the most direct and fastest routes. When the driving of an autonomous car demonstrates that the computer can safely and reliably transport the passengers to their destination, this frees up the passengers to do other things that they would not normally be able to do if they were driving the car manually. For this reason, self-driving cars can help maximize productivity of their passengers.
