OLD AGE PEOPLE Ageing is an inevitable developmental phenomenon bringing along a number of changes in the physical, psychological, hormonal and the social conditions. Ageing is defined in terms of the biology as “the regular changes that occur in mature genetically representative organism living under reprehensive environmental conditions as they advance in chronological age.” Old age is the closing period of the life span which is the problematic period of everyone’s life. Dividing line between middle and old age is usually considered as sixty. People during the sixties are usually referred to as "elderly", meaning somewhat old or advanced beyond middle age, and "old" after they reach the age of seventy. These attribute to the personal, social, economic, family, physical and psychological problems of the elders. They have to adjust with their decreasing strength and falling health. This makes marked revisions in the roles they have played in the home and society. Now they are in the situation to find activities to compensate the time that has been consumed in a major part of their life when they were younger. So far, some of the social problems such as Rural Disadvantage persons with Disabilities, Ragpickers, HIV aids patients are analyzed using various fuzzy models. These are the problems of some particular set of people. But problem of old age people is a problem of each and every human in the earth. Actually it is a globalised problem. In western countries, they seem to have some solution because their culture is different and they are not used to live in the joint family system.
