I am nominating Fa Mulan for the Hero Hall of Fame. Mulan is the perfect candidate, she has all of the qualities that an amazing hero needs, she is persistent, kind, intelligent, brave, and selfless. However, if you need convincing about Mulan, or are unaware of her journey, continue to read on. Mulan’s heroic journey started when her father was drafted for the army, to defend China. Her father was older and even struggled with walking, remarkably Mulan pretended to a man and took her father’s place in the army. Performing this was incredibly brave, do too the fact that in China this action was punishable by death. Pretending to be a man, including taking her father’s place in the army, was insanely selfless. Mulan’s decision put her own life in danger, nevertheless she focused on her father’s safety instead of her own. As soon as Mulan started her army training she was pushed to her limits. She was even told to quit by her commanding general, nevertheless she persevered through training. Mulan is insanely amazing at problem-solving, instead of just shooting the leader of the Huns, she shot the mountain above them which plummeted onto the entire Hun army. Revolutionarily proving that gender roles and stereotypes are nonsense and do not define you. Mulan was the first Disney princess that did not need a man to be her salvation.
