College education has been questioned many times, by all types of different people. It has been debated whether it is worth it or if it’s just a waste of time. Logically, high school students wish to attend college immediately after, not because they want too but because we have been taught that college is the way to go. However, is it necessary? College education is worth it due to increase in future finances, increased health insurance, and long term life skills.
College graduates are proven to make more money than the ones who have not even considered an education. Students that have successfully completed an associate's degree are worth $170,000, this is more than a high school diploma will get you in a lifetime as of 2011 ( Is a College Education Worth It?). All Americans should have a clear understanding that life cannot be lived with some type of income. If an associate’s degree earns you $170,000, imagine how much a bachelor’s or master’s degree gives you. As you go through your schooling, your earnings increase. For example, in 2007, the earning for a freshman college student was at an 11% rate. By senior year students were receiving an earning at a 16% rate (Is a College Education Worth It?). An education
College graduates had access to 70% of health insurance coverage compared to high school graduate who had 50% of health coverage (Is a College Education Worth It?). Having a college education gives you more respect, it shows others that you worked for your benefits. In the working industry, health insurance is a reward. The more college experience you have the more coverage you will receive. At this level of schooling you may experience few health issues.
