“I think we’re going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth within a decade, and I think we’re going to have definitive evidence within 20 to 30 years… We know where to look. We know how to look” ~Ellen Stofan, NASA Chief Scientist (Wall). First off, there are many different beliefs about alien life. Science, history, and eyewitnesses can prove alien existence. However, skeptics have many examples to why alien life does not exist. There are many examples of the media’s role in making alien’s existence popular. Finally, there has always been a constant battle between the skeptics and believers of aliens because of its characteristics and comings, and I believe the media has continued to help make this topic more and more popular.

There are very few people in America who are unfamiliar with the popular images of aliens and basic abduction stories (Clancy). A poll suggests that in America, 93 percent of the population believes that aliens exist and 27 percent believe that aliens have visited Earth (Clancy). Additionally, the Daily Mail polled 500 children, 8 to 12, and 64 percent of the kids believe in aliens, while only 33 percent believe in God (Woolaston). Almost half of the children polled believe the stereotype that aliens are green (Woolaston). There is shocking amount of people who believe in alien life even if there is not proof.
