Have you ever thought about living on the red planet? It is a breathtaking, heavenly body, with long stretches of red dirt as well as a large canyon. It may sound like a beautiful place to live, but don't let it fool you, Mars has harsh dust storms and the largest volcano in the solar system. Living there would be almost impossible, but research is proving that living on the red planet may soon be a reality.
In order to live on Mars, research has to be done. One of the factors scientists have to consider is how to feed the colonists of Mars. It may seem like a problem that could be solved very easily, but if the explorers of Mars wish to survive, massive amounts of research must be done. They cannot carry enough food to be able to survive long enough. The ship would be too heavy and it could be unhealthy. Scientist already know that humans are able to grow food in space as long as the area is protected. The most important thing that we need to find out is how to grow food on Mars.

Mars soil composition is unique because of its large deposits of oxidized iron dust. It also contains a compound called perchlorates, an ester of perchloric acid. According to studies, microbes survive well on perchlorates, which means that plants may still be able to survive in Mars soil. That doesn’t mean that the crops would be edible, the chemical would make the crops dangerous to eat. To some scientist, figuring out a natural process to remove the perchlorates out of the soil is one of the last hurdles. One other problem is finding out how to pollinate the plants. Scientist believe bumblebees are the
...ever that Mother Earth will return the favor. Through all my findings and research, I have developed a conclusion to my own question, “is corn for food or fuel?” I can now answer this question with knowledge and reason; Corn is intended for food!
...egular people, believing that if someone was to go to Mars they might have been able to survive A variety of organic compounds present may mean a life is probable. Also, if the trip to Mars in 2023 turns out to be a positive one, then it will prove to everyone that in the future more and more people will move to this other planet. A lot of people will find it unnecessary to stay on Earth if they can start a new life somewhere else in the galaxy. Even though the trip will have America paying billions and billions of dollars, it truly is worth it. A life on Mars could mean living to an older age and being healthier. The point of going to the Red Planet is to find out if there is a better life somewhere other than on Earth. Just like NASA astronaut, Buzz Aldrin said, humans will most likely reach Mars and when they do humans will turn into a two-planet species.
Who knows what kind of opportunities can come from Mars? We can use the many resources that have already been found on this planet, it could help us in many ways beyond space exploration, and it could even be a new place for us to live. That’s why I believe that the government should fund space exploration to Mars.
The Culture and Commitment of Mars, Incorporated Mars, Incorporated is known to be a manufacturer and distributor of food products (Bloomberg Business). The company manufactures and distributes pet care products, as well as chocolate products; gum, mints, hard and chewy candies, and lollipops (Bloomberg Business). It also offers food products; beverages for various types of work environments such as coffee, tea, and soups. It further provides cocoa extract supplements which helps a person to have a healthy heart because such products allow healthy blood flow (Bloomberg Business). Furthermore, Mars, Incorporated serves various customers from multinational retailers to small independent stores and the like.
Would you want to live on Mars? Some would say yes, others no, I am against going to Mars and think that we should stick to Earth and put our time, money, and energy into fixing this planet. I will show you all the reason why we can not go to that red planet.
All living things need basic resources that are essential for survival. Food is one of the most influencing needs an animal has. Raw and contaminated food can lead to poisoning and diseases. On the other hand, vegetables and protein can sustain a healthy life. Throughout time humans have been trying new foods. and all of them have had an effect on humanity. The development of agriculture and irrigation caused Neolithic people to start building civilizations, and growing their own food. With the beginning of agriculture, several healthy foods such as yogurt, noodles, and cheese were being discovered. The expansion of agriculture was crucial to the growth of civilizations and mankind.
It takes huge amounts of water to grow food. Just think, globally we use 70% of our water sources for agriculture and irrigation, and only 10% on domestic uses.
Buzz Aldrin once said, “The Planet’s famous red color is from iron oxide coating everything, so it's not just a desert, it's a desert so old it's rusting”. The Planet Buzz Aldrin is talking about is mars, now seeing this you may be thinking that If mars is covered in Iron Oxide, it would be un-inhabitable, right? Well no. Mars may be a huge desert with active volcanoes with a CO2 rich atmosphere, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t suitable for life. Mars can change, if we were able to set up a greenhouse with plants that can grow in un-earthly conditions than we can create breathing air which would greatly increase our chances of survival! Another reason why we can colonize mars is that there is water on mars, people may argue that is dry ice(Frozen Carbon Dioxide), however a new find by the curiosity rover has proven that false. One more reason why humans should colonize mars is because the space race isn’t over just yet. Being the first country to arrive at a
The first time the term "space exploration" was coined was during the space race between the United States of America and the Union of Socialist Republics. People have argued that this war took place from as early as 1947 to as late as 1991. During this time the USA and the USSR were racing to see which country could reign supreme in terms of human spaceflight. Even thought the time period in which this race occurred has ended does not mean that space exploration stopped affected every human being. All though the space race ended, everything from technology, society, and the economy is still being affected to this very day.
Did you ever think we should go to Mars? Well, we should colonize to Mars! My reasons are it’s a good back-up plan, it has many minerals and land, and we might even find something there, maybe even life! Let me explain my reasons.
For centuries humans have strived to learn about the world beyond Earth. Our curiosity started with ancient Greeks such as Galileo discovering planets, galaxies, and more. We have never lost interest in the world beyond our planet since then. In the Twentieth Century, people started to launch spacecraft into space, such as space shuttles and satellites. From just launching a satellite into space to a man walking on the moon and now rovers on Mars, mankind has accomplished a lot in space. Now, we want to go even further, exploring and putting humans on Mars.
This made me think about what is affecting everyone, and I thought about the rapidly growing population of Earth. As the population increases to extreme size, space on Earth begins to reach it’s maximum. What top scientists are thinking is the next step sits 140,000,000 miles away. Mars has many features that make it the best planet to sustain life. Mars has many similar features to Earth including size, climate, and elements.
Living in space has been man’s dream for a very long time, we are slowly getting closer every day, companies such as NASA now have a huge budget, over 20 million (Table 2 Full yearly NASA spending) and are researching new ways to get to space. With advances such as the Mars rover, which is currently collecting information on Mars, and the first man on the moon in a few decades, we might be able to send a man to Mars. Currently NASA is trying to develop a system for growing food in space. The biggest problem is gravity, of course you can’t use soil as it can move and might float out of the pot, but you can use a substance called fytocell. Fytocell is a new product which acts as a hydroponic; this means it helps the plant grow by providing it with a constant supply of water.
...ve also discovered, researched, and experimented in trying to find new ways into growing crop in space. The agency also recently announced plans to grow cress, turnips and much more. In order, for them to do so they will need to protect the plants from harmful radiation and the lack of atmosphere. That is not the only research NASA is trying to experiment on how people can actually live and grow crops on the moon. Moreover, growing plants on the moon would be very challenging because the moon surface temperature is about 150 degree and on the other side it is negative 150 degrees. So, if they had to grow plants on the moon for astronauts to eat, the plants that NASA send up there would be expose to the temperature and harsh radiation. This is just the first step in the experiment of trying to exploring crops on the moon and how astronauts are able to eat in space.
The chemical fertilizers and pesticides have effects on the soil organisms that are similar to human overuse of antibiotics. According to the soil scientist Dr. Elaine Ingham, she said that “If we lose both bacteria and fungi, then the soil degrades”. It meaning that some plants depends on a variety of soil microorganism to transform atmospheric nitrogen into nitrates, which plants can use. For example Toxic effects of high concentration of ammonia fertilizer on soil organism applied have been the potential damage to soil organism generally one issue to grower because some bacteria living inside the soil surface provides potential benefit for cropping. If chemical fertilizer unprofessional conduct used, it will affect to earthworm as a beneficial soil organism resulting in the loss an important actor playing the vital role as decomposer of land and cause loss of the land nutrient or organic matters effect for the soil loss of fertility.
