The Arctic Fox is a carnivore that lives away from the coast. They usually eat omnivores. The Arctic Fox relies on smaller animals to survive. They usually hunt for marine life, like fish or sea birds..etc. There are several hundred thousand in its population. They have the scientific name “Vulpes Lagopus”. The Arctic Fox weighs about 3 to 20 pounds and are around 18 to 27 inches long. They are also about 11 inches in height.
They are not very big, but they are a good size. The Arctic Fox lives in the Tundra area, which is one of the coldest biomes. The Arctic Fox can live up to 3 to 6 years. The Arctic Fox can live in extremely cold weather. The Arctic Fox usually lives in burrows, or they would dig holes, or tunnels in the snow. But that is mainly only when blizzards come. The Arctic Fox has pretty white (and sometimes it is gray) fur. They use it to camouflage in the snow. Their fur is actually pretty cool, because it changes colors when the season changes. It is either brown or gray. The color of the fur helps for when the Fox hunts its prey. The Arctic Fox can eat vegetables also. The Arctic Fox has a big bushy tail, and it helps keep the fox warm in the winter. Apparently The Arctic Fox likes to steal goose eggs from their nests. Oh and in the Siberian region. The Arctic Fox is a “Prohibited new organism” in New Zealand of course. Arctic Foxes really don’t hibernate at all. They don’t need to, they hunt all winter and basically whenever they want or can. The Arctic Fox is genuine animals and hunters. They are good at their jobs and they don’t give up when it comes to food. They pounce at them when they are ready to kill. And then they bring it back to their family. Unless they do not have one and then they eat it themselves. The Arctic Fox is literally so so cute and adorable. They would not really make a good house pet though, mainly because they do belong in the Arctic and in cold regions. But they would be fun to play with. I one day would like to own a fox itself. Probably a Red Fox. Apparently their paw pads keep them warm and toasty during harsh winters. Back to the reproduction and life style for these genuine foxes.
