In August 1990, I successfully completed the degree requirements to earn a Bachelor of Science in Social and Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. The completion of course work in principals of public administration, organization management and leadership, strategic planning, public policy analysis, ethics and social justice and finance and budget afforded the opportunity to earn a Master of Public Administration from Walden University in August 2016. Additionally, I am responsible for managing the destruction of obsolete files and updating the obsolete files database. I manage the process of requesting records. The request of records from Local Education Agencies includes the Notice and Eligibility Decision Regarding Special Education Services, the Individualized Education Plan and Behavior Intervention Plan and diagnostic assessments. I request additional records pertaining to the assessment/screenings of vision, audiological, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, psychological and medical records all from various agencies to include the Department of Rehabilitation Services, Department of Mental Health, Psychiatric In-Patient Facilities, UAB School of Optometry, Ophthalmologist Children’s Hospital, Physician Offices, Audiologist and other service providers. I manage and coordinate the scheduling of diagnostic assessments. It is imperative to measure the potential student's functioning level with assessments such as the educational, vision, hearing, speech and language, psychological, functional vision assessment, occupational screenings, physical therapy screenings, adaptive behavior screenings to determine whether or not the student meets admission criteria to attend ASB, ASD or HKS to assist with …show more content…

• Develop goals and timelines for the AIDB Strategic Plan for the Admissions Department and collaborate with the Spanish Interpreter to develop goals for this area. • Manage the databases used to generate reports for Numbers Served, State of the Program, Bi-Weekly Enrollment Management and reports as requested by the Administrator for Outreach Services. Provide data requested by the Special Education Coordinator for the submission of Child Count Data to the State Department of Education. • Monitor and review payroll and travel for the Admission Office and Spanish Interpreting for accuracy prior to submitting to Executive Director’s office. • Attend MEGA conference, Early Intervention Conference, Alabama Council for the Blind Conference to obtain professional development. Coordinate attendance of the Admission Assistant to the Early Intervention Conference and Transition Fair for professional development. • Presentation of material at the Novice Special Ed. Coordinator’s conference, AIDB Regional Center quarterly meeting, SOAR
