Then in 1984, Apple created the Macintosh computer. “This popular home computer used a graphical user interface (GUI), a feature that allows people to issue commands by pointing to on-screen symbols and clicking a mouse rather than by typing instructions” (Alba). The Mac was one of the first computers to use a mouse. The mouse was a very useful tool; enabling people to move the mouse to click on tabs instead of having to type commands on a keyboard.
