One should wear formal shoes and match the socks color with the shoes ‘color. Be sure that your dress is neat and clean and properly ironed. Different societies and cultures have different dress norms and understanding the norms of culture helps with public speaking, though Western business styles are commonly accepted in many countries today. Ladies may go for formal dress code. Other factors like neat and clean, ironing etc. applies here too.
If you wish to be an effective speaker, you just cannot ignore the visual aspect of communication. Dress according to the occasion. Just to look good, you may use cough lins on shirt. You should also put one pen on the pocket. In this digital world, you may also carry smartphone, tablet etc. as well. Females should also wear watch on one hand and some nice looking bracelet on another hand.While addressing public, you need to take special care about the jewellery and abstain from using too much jewellery. Gents may use one or two rings but not too many. They may also wear gold chain as well. Females should wear lightweight necklace and matching earrings. They also wear one or two rings.
b) Since the introduction is where you make the first impression, it must be planned with care. It must take up between 10 and 15 percent of your total speaking time. At the outset, you need to try and establish your credibility, by showing that you are qualified to speak on the subject of the presentation. An attention getting opener must be developed, using techniques such as humor, dramatic questions, an interesting story, a quotation or a startling statement.

Over the recent four months in Communication 1402 class, I have addressed three formal speechs and completed a number of chapters in the corresponding textbook “Communication Works”. This course of Communication aims to provide general information what public speaking is and how to address a public speaking. Recalling back the experience during the processes of completing the Speech to Imform, Speech to Persuade, and Group Presentation, I will draw a conclusion about this course and these three presentations in five aspects, comprising my previous perception of public speaking before this course; learning from the Speech to Inform; the goal and evaluation of Speech to Persuade; learning from the Group Presentation; the most important thing learned from this course.

Ever since their invention many centuries ago, clothes have been used as a way of communicating. The message communicated relies on a number of factors including the social background of both the communicator and the receiver, and the context in which the message is communicated. Although at times the exact message or symbolism one is trying to portray may not be clear, it is evident that clothing has long been embraced as one of the best ways to project one’s desired personal image to those around them.
Making a successful public presentation or speech to an audience was a very big task for me before I joined the public speaking class. I was always frightened and very nervous. Since then I now understand the process of making a speech or a presentation including coming up with a topic and from this topic develop the main points of the speech, research, organize my points, revise them, edit and make a magnificent presentation to any audience. People in the audience might sometimes agree or disagree with my opinion or points, it was therefore necessary to communicate my information clearly to the audience without making any judgments since every person was entitled to a different opinion and views about things.
Appearance matters because some facial qualities are useful in guiding adaptive behavior that even a trace of those qualities can create an impression. Specifically, the qualities revealed by facial cues that characterize emotion and identity, which are overgeneralized to people whose facial appearance resembles the unfit. Practice is a major role that needs to be played when it comes to presenting. Practicing, I feel gives you more confidence in your speech, and more preparation than if you were to not practice. Rehearsing before the speech then presenting makes you seem like you actually know what you are talking about even if the only reason you know all these facts is because of study and practicing. Practicing through my speech really helps me with my presentation, if I practice enough, I feel very confident to where I wouldn’t need t a paper to look at notes during the speech. This concept is important for anything. Practicing will always help you with any future task.

This standard is just a definition of what society considers being “beautiful.” This idea is one that mostly everyone knows about and can relate to. No one on this planet is exactly the same, but people still feel the need to meet this standard. Everyone has two sides to them; there is the one that says “you are perfect just the way you are”, while the other side puts you down and you tell yourself “I have to change, I have to fit in.” There is always going to be that side that cares and the one that doesn’t.

It attracts positive energy which helps a person express oneself and makes others pay more attention to you.

My career that I have chosen is a bank manager at a First National Bank branch in Durban North. A bank manager is involved in the daily running’s of the bank. They are in charge of all operations inside the bank. They ensure that the branch that they are running is up to standard. The work I will be doing is, I will be involved in corporate meetings with the board, to help make financial solutions. I will be interacting with clients throughout the day who have problems with their accounts. I think this outfit would be perfect for being a bank manager because it is professional and neat.
