It addresses that the issue of border security has been an ongoing problem, and although the government has attempted to better secure the border, they have ultimately failed leaving parts of the border open to criminal activity or illegal entry into the United States. The article recognizes the attempts that have been made, but it also addresses the fact that there is still a lot of progress that needs to be made to efficiently secure the southern border. It also explains the consequences of having an insecure border. The article then discusses recommendations to better controlling America’s borders. The Heritage Foundation is made of many policy experts who are capable of explaining and solving policy issues.
