Animal Comparison
Comparison to a Cat Cats are a small mammal that is regularly domesticated to be a house pet. They are an animal with a short snout and retractile claws. Cats are similar to myself in my physical characteristics, my social habits and in my literary-related behaviors. The type of cat I am most similar to is the short-haired sable Burmese. The Burmese cat is very similar to me in many physical attributes. A Burmese is brown to black in color also known as “sable” coloring. My hair is brown and darker in color as well. Like a Burmese my hair is silky because it is not frizzy or of a rough texture, like a Burmese’s soft, silky coat. The Burmese is a very muscular and stocky

The Cheshire Cat is very intelligent and likes to puzzle Alice with riddles and questions. I as in comparison to the cat, like to be very puzzling when I speak to friends occasionally. The other Cat from literature I see myself comparable to is “The Cat in the Hat”. The Cat in the Hat is very inventive with his fun, games and loves the kids he plays alongside with. When I work with little ones, I like to be very creative with my imagination and tell the little ones where we are traveling while moving through the room. You have to keep their imaginations going in dance class so they are happy, enjoy being there, and keep dancing on to the beat of the movement. Whether it is going shopping at the boutique on fancy street, or flying like a butterfly in a sunflower field you have to keep creative juices flowing. Commensurable to the Cat in the Hat, I also love kids. I have seven younger cousins between the age of eight to eight months. I see them on a regular basis and love to play with them. I also help teach dance classes at my studio and enjoy being with young kids and shaping their minds through movement. I love being surrounded by their energy, fun and love for other people. I also relate to them because I know I truly am a child at
. The Cheshire cat is famous in the book, and movie of Alice and Wonderland. Bradbury used this allusion in his writing to explain the emotion of the people. The author states,"Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Bowles came through the front door and vanished into the volcano's mouth with martinis in their hands. Montag stopped eating. They were like a monstrous crystal chandelier tinkling in a thousand chimes, he saw their Cheshire Cat smiles burning through the walls of the house, and now they were screaming at each other above the din"(Bradbury 93). This reference to the Cheshire Cat is to explain to the fake grins on Mrs. Bowles and Mrs. Phelps faces. The people of this society, like Mrs. Bowles and Mrs. Phelps, they have fake emotions. The government was taking away their power to read and think about what is going on around them and themselves, their society does not know how to feel or care for other people. All they know how to do is play with their technology and be oblivious to the people and events that are happening around them. The government wants complete control over the people and the best way to do that is to take their ability to think for themselves ,and how they feel on some
Facial scrapes, bruises, cuts and fractures are only few of the physical signs battered woman might suffer from. Public awareness increasingly rises over domestic violence. Domestic violence is an awful phenomenon that many women are suffering from. We can distinguish between two main types of abusive men. The two types are cobras and pit bulls. In this essay I will describe the similarities and differences between cobras and pit bulls.
The Cheshire Cat was introduced in chapter six, “pig and pepper” at the duchess’s house. Looking at the evidence presented by Lewis Carroll, it points to the Cheshire cat being compared to God himself. The Cheshire cat is one of if not the only character in the book that can have an intellectual conversation with Alice that doesn’t end up with Alice or anyone else getting offended; Alice even grows to consider the Cheshire cat a friend and thinks of it as the only person she has to talk to. This Cheshire cat also possesses some strange abilities that not even Alice can completely comprehend. The Cheshire cat can be anywhere it wants to be by vanishing and re appearing and also he seems to have knowledge about everything that goes on in Wonderland, the main example being that the Cheshire cat is the only character that know that everyone on Wonderland is mad; everyone else in wonderland sees the world and their actions as normal. When Alice was looking for an escape from the Queen at the croquet game, she looked up to the sky for answers, and like how people in the bible look up for answers from God, it is the Cheshire cat that answers to
1These two populations are different species because they have different capabilities of performing in nature. For example there is behavioral isolation. My evidence for that is that in the data, it states that the average time spent in courtship display for the St. Kitts rodent is 12.6 seconds. While the courtship display for the Nevis Rodent is 21.3. You can see that there is a major difference in the way that they behave. Also there is another type of isolation which is gametic isolation. There is gametic isolation because the average gestation time for St. Kitts rodent is 29.3 days. The average gestation for the Nevis rodent is 42.7 days. Therefore a sperm from St. Kitts rodent wouldn’t survive in the reproductive tract of the Nevis rodent. It wouldn’t survive because it wouldn’t develop properly and is not accustomed to its environment. There is also another type of isolation happening with the rodents of St. Kitts. This type of isolation is called temporal isolation. There is temporal isolation because the article states, “the reproductive seasons are being delayed by up to one year.” This is talking about that the rodents are having a hard time finding mates therefore, their reproductive season is being delayed. Also in the article it states, “In the 240 attempts to bring a Nevis animal into the St. Kitts population, you are unable to observe a single successful reproductive event.” The rodents are mechanically isolated, because if you can’t have a reproductive event, there reproductive organs might not be matching with one another. Their appearance might look identical but they are genetically different.
A leopard is a powerful cat that is big that are almost related to lions, tiger, and jaguars. The leopard is a strong animal. It can be comfortable in trees, and it usually kills its prey into some type of branches. They would drag the body somewhere where it can be safe and for hyenas or any other animal not to eat their food. They are able to hunt from trees. The reason is because since they have a spotted coat, that allows them for their skin to be visible with the leaves or wherever they are hiding. This animal is a predator and stalks animals, like an antelope, deer, and pigs. When they are stalking, they usually are ready to eat their prey. That would mean they have to not move as much on the tall grass. As they see a person close to them they would either attack and animal if theres no animal it will immeadtly attack the person. Leopards are good swimmers, where they would sometimes eat fish when they swim or crabs. A leopard can give birth throughout the whole year, it doesn't matter when. Usually they give birth to two cubs that would look grayish with barely visible spots. The leopard mom would have to hide its cub in other not get eating. Once they are old enough to play and hunt they are free to be on their own. Cubs usually live with their mothers for a short time like two years because leopards are consider to be solitary animals as in been by themselves most of the time. . Most leopards are light colored with usually some dark spots, they are called rosettes.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become an animal for a day, or a week, or maybe even forever? I have come upon the conclusion that a cat is one of the best animals to become in the animal kingdom. The key points being a cat’s habitat, behaviour, and finally their anatomy.
The Panthera tigris or commonly known as tiger is one of the biggest cat species, which is its body length is about 3.38 m over curves. This animal has the unique pattern of stripes on its orange fur. The tiger is classified from the kingdom of animalia, phylum of chordate, subphylum of vertebrate, class of mammalian, order of carnivore, family of felidae, genus of panther and species of tigris. Tigers are totally carnivore, which usually hunted for the other animals such as bovids and deer. Tigers are commonly social animals but territorial and generally solitary. IUCN had classified the tiger as the endangered species as there are only six tiger subspecies remaining such as Bengal tiger, Indochinese tiger, Malayan tiger, Siberian tiger, South China tiger and Sumatran tiger. The declining of the tiger in the wild is mostly because of the deforestation, poaching and habitat destruction. The characteristics of the tiger are extremely long whiskers and largest canine teeth, have sharp claws which used to grip their prey and its tail is about half as long as its body.
We all are busy people who are out of the house most of the day. We need a companion to help us ease the stress from daily life. For example, if you are purr-catinating on essays or preparing for speeches late at night, you at least have a companion by your side. A great companion is the cat, you get to pet a fluffy thing and get free scratches. Why cats? Well, cats are purr-ty interesting creatures. According to Discovery News, in 1960s, the CIA tried to turn a cat into a spy, but un-fur-tunately, they failed when the cat was ran over by a cab. Another interesting fact according to Buzzfeed is female cats are typically right-pawed while male cats are typically left-pawed. There is also a cat island named Tashirojima that are terrorized by stray cats in Japan. The main problem is there are too many cats in the shelters that need a home, according to ASPCA, approximately 3.4 million cats enter the shelters every year. Well the solution to this is you can adopt a cat. There are a few things you need to do before adopting a cat.
They have a strong build, with a cobby body which is covered with a long silky coat. Their legs are short and heavily boned, they have a round head with large round eyes and a short muzzle. They have short thick necks and broad chests. They come in so many different colors that cat shows have separate colored categories for them. In today’s cat-shows they look for the Persian with the longest and thickest coat, very short legs, an extremely shortened muzzle and large eyes. This breed weighs about 4.5 kilograms so they are lighter than the average cat breed. Because of the coat, Persian cats can look a little bit obese, but this is not the case, in fact their muscle tone is
Animals live in various unique environments. Through evolution and adaptation, animals have adapted physical and behavioral mechanisms in order to survive in a variety of ecological surroundings. Adaptation is a body covering, part or behavior that an animal develops in order to survive in a particular environment. The environment or an ecological surrounding is the immediate habitat that affects the animal which includes water, land, air and other living things. Animals have developed adaptations over time. Animals’ adaptation matches with the way they are living. Different groups of animals such as fish, reptiles, birds, mammals and amphibians have their own general adaptation mechanisms. Skin covering is a good example of animal adaptation. The skin covering for various animals have evolved over time. The paper discusses the various forms of the skin and their associated coverings.
When you talk to pet owners about owning a cat versus a dog, it stirs up much controver-sy in many ways. By looking at both cats and dogs, the cat outweighs the dog in many ways, which makes the cat the superior selection when making a final decision on which one to get. Cats have very desirable qualities that make them an award winning choice to many owners. The qualities that appeal to most are the ability of the cat to live in small spaces, they do not eat large amounts of food for their meals, and they are very sedentary and independent in nature making them a low maintenance pet. One additional desired feature is cats are well suited for owners that have a very busy lifestyle and minimal time to give to their pet. This added feature
"A dog is man's best friend." That common saying may contain some truth, but dogs are not the only animal friend whose companionship people enjoy. For many people, a cat is their best friend. Despite what dog lovers may believe, cats make excellent housepets.
Both cats have similarities between the two. They are about the same size. They both make a good sprint for their prey although leopards tend to stalk their prey a little more. They eat medium sized prey which is relatively smaller than prey of other big cats eat. The females are solitary in both species though cheetah males make a coalition, male leopards are also solitary.
First, we shall discuss the similarities these two creatures share. One of the most obvious similarities between these two animals is that they both have hair and are domesticated animals kept as pets. They require love and affection from their owner, and return that love and affection if owners show it towards them. Another thing is
Animal experimentation is contentious issue in today’s society that, whether it continue or should stop. Many animals such as monkey undergo painful suffering or even death as a result of scientific research for the sake of humans’ health. Among the animals monkeys are the main victims of the scientists’ experiments because of their human-like characteristics and physical process to humans. Monkeys’ similarities allow the scientists to test effectiveness of the new discovered drugs, food additives, and chemical and even cosmetics products. Although, such medical experimentations had helped scientists to produce vaccines, and medicines that are necessary for elimination of some deceases, but the test had negative medical effect on monkeys.
