Globalization is the interaction among companies, people, and businesses of different nations. It is driven by trade, import, export, investment, and technology. As people, ideas, products, and sources move more easily around the world, the world becomes more of a similar environment. There are so many years of history behind globalization. Ancient Greek culture spreads across so much of southwestern Asia, northern Africa, and southern Europe. Alexander the Great, brought the globalization of Greek culture. There are a few cities in Iraq, Egypt, and Turkey named after Alexander. There was a trade route between China Mediterranean Sea, called the Silk Road. This trade route promoted the exchange of ideas and knowledge. They also exchanged goods such as silk, spices, and porcelain. Globalization grew when Europeans began establishing colonies overseas. European explorers were eager to bring Christianity to the colonies they visited. Christianity began to spread from Europe to Latin America through Christian missionaries working with local populations. Then, in the nineteenth century, the Industrial Revolution caused globalization to increase. Factories and mechanical mills became more common and were often relied on for goods. Raw material was often used from distant lands. Goods were made in one country, hen sold in another. For instance, in India, Britain had a colony that supplied cotton to British merchants and traders.
