Technology is evolving rapidly in today’s society. Different types of technology are coming into the scene. One piece that has been revealed and is used by millions of people is 3D printers. In the documentary “Print the Legend,” viewers can learn about the process of making a 3D printer and the marketing behind this piece of technology. However, there is a hidden message in the documentary “Print the Legend.” That message is no matter what obstacle you may face you can always overcome it through hard work. “Print the Legend,” educates viewers on the world of 3D printing and tries to send a message to the audience to never give up on your dreams. Maxim Lobovsky created this 3D printer company based off his interest in 3D printing technology. Similar to Makerbot’s blueprint section Formlabs has their own blueprint section as well. On Formlabs’ website you can find blueprints to making tiny vintage televisions to making your own board game. During the first couple months of Formlabs becoming a company they had a lawsuit on their hands. One of the bigger competitors in the market sued Formlabs for patent infringement related to the laser-based stereolithography techniques. Lobovsky believed that 3D printing would help spark creativity in our younger generation. Maxim Lobovsky has an impressive background, a student from MIT where Lobosky studied Media Arts and Science. Lobovsky started Formlabs when he was only 25 years old. In the beginning of founding Formlabs, Lobovsky made a Kickstarter for the company. The original goal for their Kickstarter was 100,000 dollars by the end of their Kickstarter campaign Formlabs received 2.9 million dollars.
