People like to play games and some games are made for different audiences. There are games that you might have played as a kid that tries to teach you different colors and how to count or spell. I know I always played an undersea themed one and I can still quote some of the ways that they would say things. But then there are games not made for children and are more for an adult audience. Games that may be too violent for children or more strategic are obviously for more of an adult audience then a learning game and a learning game is going to be very boring for most adults. The game I’m going to be talking about is the whole BioShock franchise. This series has currently three games in it and all of them have scored very high and are generally …show more content…

They all are rapture related though. Usually everything is supposed to be all heavenly but it is often not that way when you are there. With BioShock receiving the highest overall score out of the three of them and Infinite the second best. Since they got such high scores they have been played by a lot of people all around the world. The intended audience is for mostly adult men.
I believe this to start off with because it is a fairly violent game. It is too violent for anyone younger than 18. It has pretty intense violence and gore which is not something children should be watching or even controlling themselves. Children should not be allowed to play games that have so much gore in them. In BioShock infinite starts out with a weapon called a Skyhook and it literally has spinning blades that the main character uses to destroy enemy’s faces with. This is too violent for young children who should not have or be able to view violence at this young age. I think its fine for people over 18 though because they probable should be showed violence and gore to prepare them for the real world. There is violence and gore in the real world so why shouldn’t adults be allowed to view such things because it just makes it all the more real. I think it more for men than women because women don’t necessarily like gore and violence as much as a man most likely would because women are more caring than a man is. Men just want to shoot things and that’s a lot of what a lot of BioShock is. …show more content…

This is something children don’t get because they are dumb. In all the bioshock series there has always been a big emphasis on political propaganda of the time it comes out and the past in America. These are things that kind of poke fun at the propaganda for president elections and show how ridiculous it was. In BioShock Infinite for example the people of the rapture city worship George Washington. He is seen as a god to the people of rapture. This is to make fun of how people thought gorge Washington was a god or something. This is something an adult would understand, because adults have a lot more knowledge, more than children would know so it’s more for adults. In the BioShock series there is also a lot of references to religion in the games. One of the main ways is that the city you are in is called Rapture. Of course rapture is a total reference to in Christianity when the world ends it is called rapture. Another thing is that the people in rapture are supposed to be super religious and the main character is seen as a demon to the people because he is trying to save a girl. Also since rapture is supposed to be a pure town where everyone is “prefect” the developers of the game also referenced how in the time of George Washington slaves where used so they are counted as “impure” which is pretty bad for a place that is supposed to be. Which is overall saying how back then when the
