Dear Butler, after reading your story “Speech Sounds”, made a positive and great impression on me which are unexplainable and reminisced over the events while I had in my childhood. I really was impressed the way how you wanted to show the reader that language is important to a culture and without communication and human speech the breakdown of the social structure will affect people’s lives. Throughout the story I can see that Rye is a woman that has the ability speak among other people who are not able to communicate with each other because of the illness which is called “pandemic”. And she was the only woman who had the ability to speak among the others who cannot as a way to emphasize on a dominant woman presence in the society. The most powerful and meaningful part in your story which I was more interested in that when Rye identifies that the two children are able to speak she decides to abandon them and to teach them. Rye may not have the power to speak in public, among the people, but she had the power to protect the children from the violation in that society. Even though the story was full of describing difficult moments people’s life, but it was written with such as an emotional feeling which made me cry at the end of the story. Made me cry A long with having ten children my grandparents even though had many hard time to raise and feed their children, but had the aspiration of build a big future and to choose a career for them. As time passes children grew up in a huge family sometimes with some deficit, hardship and even with some depress while they had difficult moments. To overcome obstacle in a life for each child in their family was one of the main destination for their future. As my mom often remembers my grandfather used to say “When there is a definite goal, effort to achieve it becomes enjoyment”
The discontent about The Cather in the Rye is due to vulgar language and sexual themes within the novel. The vulgar and inappropriate content does not prevent the reader from comprehending themes, symbols, and lessons and underlying meaning of the novel. In the novel, the main character, Holden, goes through many experiences that are deemed as inappropriate and are evident to the reader. But once the reader searches and analyzes the underlying meaning of the novel and situations and how Holden reacts to these situations, there is a great deal of redeeming and positive value from the novel. This then further supports the themes and symbols presented in the novel. While people may see the main character as someone who is dimwitted and possesses no ethical standards, he faces such scenarios which put that to the test and prove it wrong. And from that, students can learn the theme of individuality and coming of age. In ...

I loved this book, its different religious views and different perspectives, the little love story and the search for oneself. It was a book that I couldn’t let go of. A book that can make you cry and is very emotional.

This story had no fluff. It had no happy ending. It was in no way uplifting. It was a book about hopelessness, and how tragic life can be. None of the characters find happiness. No one is rescued from their misery. What makes this book powerful is that sometimes that is the way life is. Sometimes there is no happy ending, and sometimes there is no hope. It would be nice if that were not true, but it is. And this book shows the gritty side of life, the sad reality. Sometimes things do not work out the way we would like them to, and sometimes there is nothing we can do about it. As depressing as this may be as a theme, it is important to realize that it is true. While optimism is usually admirable, too much may be ignorant. Hopelessness exists. It can certainly be seen in real life, and it can certainly be seen in this book.
The ending of the book is so much more different than I thought it would have been. I thought the characters were going to like happily ever after and they did not. A smart writer throws loopholes and twists into his or her writing to keep the story interesting. When I think of love stories I think of happy endings. This story came to me as a surprise. It was not a happy ending and I was very sad at the end. The author knows how to control people’s emotions and can easily change them. Now I know that a piece does not have to be what someone might expect to be thought of as “good writing”. A piece can change up the rules of writing and still be considered “good writing”.
My family is like many others in that we have our problems and difficulties as well as our own unique strengths and abilities. Past generations and the environmental context have influenced each individual’s development and growth, mine included. Through a thorough assessment of my family’s characteristics and dynamics, I am better able to understand my own beliefs and behaviors. This concept can also be applied to the families I work with. Through increased self-awareness and understanding of my own history, I am better able to provide competent, effective services as a social worker.
I have always grown up around the influence of hard work. My mother and father’s life together began off to a rough start. My mother got pregnant at the age of 20 with my brother. Her family was not very supportive of it; therefore, she was on her own. She used to tell me about how she would sit and cry in a one bedroom apartment that she lived in with my brother wondering what she was going to do. Although she had to grow up faster than she
In Maxine Hong Kingston’s autobiographical piece “Silence”, she describes her inability to speak English when she was in grade school. Kindergarten was the birthplace of her silence because she was a Chinese girl attending an American school. She was very embarrassed of her inability, and when moments came up where she had to speak, “self-disgust” filled her day because of that squeaky voice she possessed (422). Kingston notes that she never talked to anyone at school for her first year of silence, except for one or two other Chinese kids in her class. Maxine’s sister, who was even worse than she was, stayed almost completely silent for three years. Both went to the same school and were in the same second grade class because Maxine had flunked kindergarten.

... be nurtured for their own qualities and strengths. It is the job of the individual to uplift the child in order that they build their own self confidence. Mazlish and Faber have thoroughly analyzed the understanding of children to conclude that the children need not to be brought down but also to help a family’s stability. The stability of families is what leads to the function of society. The child should not be punished viciously to protect them from shattering their self being. Sincerity will go a long way to help everyone achieve true happiness because if one truly cares, then change can be made.
We use language in a variety of ways, for example, to tell people how we feel, to talk about things that we like and to be able to question and understand the world around us. As well as giving children a sense of identity. Language can be diverse and standard, for example, language can be diverse amongst cultures with different English accents and language can be standard when the majority of people in a country speak a variety of English. Language can be seen through reading and heard through oral language. Halliday and Piaget 's functions on language indicated the important roles of language in children’s lives. Language has been outlined in this essay to play a major role in children’s lives. Most importantly it gives children the skills to learn to communicate and exchange information with others around
One of the more common meanings of success, aside from the superficial materialistic meaning, is being successful in regards to family and other intimate relationships. Many have made the statement that the greatest feeling in somebody’s life is the birth of their children. This feeling that people receive gives a long-lasting feeling of self-satisfaction which provides residual dividends throughout their life. These experiences are all similar by the fact that they possess a deep emotional investment of the individual, unlike shallow experiences like succeeding in a business deal or making a large turn on an investment. It should be mentioned...
