This story is a very interesting one! It is exciting and sweet but also sad. It has many emotions. The story is told in first person who has no name. The story plays out as the narrator is walking down the street going west to east in Tokyo’s fashionable Harajuku neighborhood. He notices a girl walking the opposite direction as him (east to west) and automatically thinks that she is the 100% perfect girl for him. He ends up just walking past her and does not even think to ask to talk to her. He later talks to another person about the incident. He tells them that he wishes he would have just asked to talk to her. He thinks of all of the things that he would say and rejects about every idea he comes up with. They are both around the same age and are both only young and lonely. After seeing each other, they both react the same exact way! The girl is not extremely gorgeous nor does she have the best clothes but she is still perfect in his head. She was in search of the 100% perfect boy. Just like the boy, she too was an ordinary lonely girl. When the two meet, she feels the same way the boy does for her. She knows that he is the 100% perfect boy for her. She could not believe that this miracle actually happened. It was too good to be true! When reading this story, it brings happiness to read a love story but it also brings a feeling of sympathy for the narrator. He saw this perfect girl and did not talk to her at all. He thought that she was the 100% perfect girl for him and all of a sudden she was lost in the crowd, never to be seen again. It gives mixed emotions in the end but still turns out to be a great read in the end. The story does show a little bit of a hidden meaning to it. Don’t miss out on any chances to do anything.
