There is a place named Nisswa, Minnesota, where they hold the popular Nisswa Turtle Races. Every Wednesday evening in the summer time, the people of Nisswa and the surrounding communities gather at a designated parking lot for the weekly races.
It's big excitement and big business. Vendors rent turtles; others sell "turtle products." And the fans gather early, placing their chairs and blankets in the best viewing sites. In one recent contest, 435 turtles raced in heats of 15 over a 6-foot-long course.
The announcer, calls the turtles to their mark, gives them the "Go!" and the crowd goes wild. People stand, jump, and wave their hands in the air, imploring their turtles to be unturtle-like. The excitement grows and finally reaches a boiling point as the preliminary winners all gather for the championship race.
Amid unrestrained shouts and cheers, the first turtle crosses the finish line, and the winning "trainer" receives five dollars—along with a turtle necklace. What an uncharacteristic frenzy of emotion for the normally reserved folks of northern Minnesota!
And some people get upset when Christians worship or we church folk get "too expressively" in church on Sunday morning. But clearly the Bible in this psalm tells us.

She not only bowed her body but she kissed His feet, and washed His feet with the tears that came from her heart and soul. Then she anointed them with ointment. In my opinion, this sinner woman thought about the goodness of Jesus, and was thankful just to be in His presence; therefore, she entered into a loving expression of praising the hell out of herself.
“Slower than the rest” by Cynthia Rylant is a Realistic Fiction about a boy named Leo that finds a turtle on the street and decides to keep it. In the beginning, Leo finds a turtle on the road and decides to keep it, his dad called him slower than the rest. Soon, Leo decides to bring Charlie- his pet turtle - to his school for a report. In the end, Leo feels happy for himself about accomplishing something, for once Leo felt fast. This story shows that Charlie changes Leo’s life.

The turtle must deal with a deadly drought that poses a threat to its life. In the 1930’s Dust Bowl, the Midwest is crippled by series of dust storms that damage the agricultural production of America’s “Breadbasket.” The farmer families migrated west towards California to flee the dry and desolate region. The turtle symbolically does this by trying to get to the other side of the road and relocate to a new area that has a region with more lush vegetation. This determination to move on to a new home is shown on page 20 where Steinbeck describes the turtle, “As the embankment grew steeper and steeper, the more frantic were the efforts of the land turtle” (Steinbeck 20). To the left of the painting, it has guards having custody of the mysterious adulteresses. They are wearing armor from de Boulogne’s time period. All of the guards have their heads down and seem pretty upset. The mysterious adulteress is sad. She has her hands tied up and covered with dirt. She is looking down at the sand. To the right, it shows three weeping men, and Jesus Christ. All the men are standing up, but they can’t hold back their tears of disappointment. Christ in the other hand is bending down writing on the sand. Christ is not looking down to his writing. He is looking at the adulteress in a calm stare. Christ wants the woman to feel okay and show that the other gender sins as well. This proves that men can make mistakes like women. Everyone commits sins that they aren’t happy about but it make them learn. Men don’t see clearly what is right and wrong. When a woman committed a sin, men make them the victim of their wrong doing. Going overboard makes men realizes that they are also committing a sin, by punishing a woman for acting differently. It shows that everyone makes a mistake, no matter what time period you are living

Fresh Water turtles are small, yet amazing creatures to have and care for in your home. River Cooters, Red Eared Sliders, and Painted turtles are all common pet’s found in America. Though turtles are fun to have around they do require special care just like any other pet would. In most cases they make great pets but turtles aren’t the easiest pets to have so depending on your lifestyle you should think about how much time you’re willing to put into a turtle. They are usually cheap to buy yet the equipment for your turtle can get expensive. Along with cost you must find the time to put into this pet. They need nice set ups to live in as well as attention and proper handling.

The Leatherback sea turtle, Dermochelys coriacea, is the largest sea turtle species and is highly migrational. They inhabit every ocean and are endangered in all of them (James et al. 2005, Roe et al. 2014). They require warm waters and tropical beaches for nesting and juvenile development, and cold Northern waters for foraging (Eckert 2002). Their diet is dependent on gelatinous zooplankton (Jones et al. 2012). Their major threats include pollution, bycatch, and egg harvesting. Many initiatives have been created to help their recovery including protecting critical beach and adjacent water habitats and stricter fishing regulations. Important nesting beaches in the discussed area are in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Florida (NMFS 1979, NMFS and USFWS 2013). Due to their expansive migrations, international cooperation has been necessary and resulted in international conventions to help regulate international trade of eggs and individuals and protecting ocean habitat between countries (CITES 1973, CBD 1992, IAC 2001, CMS 2011).
